I doubt anyone actually believes it. I think it's just that reddit (and twitter) rewards people for posting the most instantly agreeable comment among the right target audience. Upvotes, likes, asspats and replies reaffirming their beliefs amongst themselves. If the facade dies, it's like the power to the monitor going off, they'll see themselves in the reflection and that simply can't happen.
After all, they're using social media and they have to post SOMETHING. They simply MUST.

Trolling is so easy to do nowadays. Literally just scream nigger in a discord call and people get butt-mad.
I remember a YouTube comment comparing the act of trolling Twitter users by dropping a link to the Scott pilgrim song (that one) as dropping a nuke on a remote African tribe. That's how I feel about most trolling attempts nowadays.
How did the internet become serious business? It wasn't supposed to be like this, it was just supposed to be funny.

Sadly the vast majority of people nowadays live 24/7 online so they seethe and get angry about every little thing they don't like, that wasn't the case during the early days because the internet was viewed and used for recreational purposes only.
The only good thing is that we can collectively laugh at all these filthy retards malding over a guy exposing them.
