The Adpocalypses probably hurt them because Roosterteeth even in the later part of the 2010's wasn't family friendly.
They did bigger production shows like Let's Play Live or Haunter, all which were probably big money drains.
They had 7-ish main talents that needed to be paid, and their support staff (probably another 6-8 people). So that's a lot of money by itself.

Just took a look at the AH Musical, the "Gavin is a prick" song, and there are 8 people there. But that was after layoffs, so Andy and whoever else was on staff wouldn't be counted in that. And the main room was up to ten by that point. Plus Fiona. And they were dealing with this while views were starting to go down. Then they hired Ky and the others around the time Covid started, and they were paying more people while the views were plummeting.

Even if it was just six main people, the channels were still getting less than 100k per video post adpocalypse. Sponsors can only do so much, so they were probably in the red.

Both Bruce and James started working with Adam back in 2011 at Inside Gaming. So unless he waited until 2019 to start shoving things up his ass, they probably knew about Adam's degenerate tendacies for years.
