It's the latter. Self-awareness has become lacking, but there is rare glimpses, glimmers, of people doing self-policing when it comes to the truly abominable shit. There's sometimes voices of reason in dens of madness, sometimes.

I don't want to drag in last night's conversation about this into a new day, but I will say I watched the video and learned some things even I myself didn't know. I knew that gay men as a whole are hypersexual and safety adverse freaks, but more the mental health statistics and who the first person to die from AIDS was got my noggin joggin'.

I like that Sam Hyde fella, I wish more people gave him a chance even if he says stuff no one likes. It's made me do some thinking, and I appreciate that.

Anyway.

Good early afternoon, Kiwis! Do you smell that? No, not the body odor and weed at the protests, the smell of possibility! Autists and faggots shouting at people who've supported them for 30 years, potential violence, in-fighting, chaos and fire. It's beautiful, really!

And what's that? Fried chicken? For four whole days? I wouldn't dare. I have to watch my figure. But maybe a bite or two wouldn't hurt. Fucking retards. I wonder what clown world will bless us with today? I hope your days have been going well, because I think they're about to get a lot better soon.

Klaus Schwab's dad was a Nazi contractor. The family moved to Germany from Switzerland during WW2. His dad was head of the Swiss industrial company Escher Wyss and they helped build things like turbines for hydroelectric powerstations where they were researching the atomic bomb.

To elaborate on this: it's a bigger microcosm of the leadership vaccuum within the party itself.

For the uninitiated: Over the last two decades, any of the more competent and intelligent politicians that they'd have access to have been systemically drummed from the party - either because they were insufficiently loyal to House Hillary, got primaried out by groups like Justice Democrats for being insufficiently Progressive, got canned for being unwilling to fall on their sword for the party's behalf during COVID, or left in disgust over the DNC's mismanagement.

What the Dems have now are suck-ups, elderly pols that have been in office longer than much of this forum's membership has been alive, and the political equivalent of diversity hires.

They can't create another Obama because the situation that allowed an Obama no longer exists. You basically need to be non-white to get backing from the Progressives at this point, and the Progressives also won't allow a candidate that's insufficiently beholden to their bullshit. The core establishment can try to create their own from scratch, but the Progressives will immediately target them for primarying for being insufficiently devoted to the cause.

This is entirely self-inflicted damage. Sit back, grab popcorn, and laugh as their hell is as vast as our collective bonergrins.

9/10 of the time the TDS fashion spergs say the person has either sun damage or a bad spray tan, or she’s old looking and out of style, or young but out of style.
Basically orange and misogyny based in attacks on appearance, not outfits and hair.
Very nice from the so called enlightened moral party.

Both are tired.
Not my personal bag, but I understand the wide appeal of the sunkissed look among those who live outside of the internet and their rooms.

Seriously, it sounds like a cliche but people get so rowdy under the cover of darkness, plus cops sometimes enforce curfew and of course the protestors don’t so good ‘ole police encounters.

They shot fireworks at groups of cops during the Summer of Mostly Peaceful Love, but apart from a few cities things like that happened mostly after dark.

Plus if the chicago locals show up, LOL.

Pretty much this. For all the pissing and moaning Dems do about the Freedom Caucus, they are a minority within the GOP. The Progressives are about 1/3rd of the party and, in their quest to engage younger voters, the Democratic Party gave a huge chunk of flesh to Progressives who are wrecking serious contenders. Tulsi Gabbard could easily win a presidential election, but she wasn't sufficiently loyal or progressive, so she had to go.

It's honestly crazy watching the DNC do shit like this.
