Not a fan of that kitchen. I don't like islands to begin with as the spacing is always really tight. Those little bar sections never made much sense to me, you lose floor space and add obstacles for no real useable table space. I've never seen anyone use them. Not a fan of the colour scheme either. The red tiles clash with the pale (assuming it's stone) stone counter top and grey cabinets. The cabinet style doesn't suit grey to me and it doesn't fit with the rest of the wood panelling throughout the house.

I'd get rid of the the island and bar and (assuming it's real wood) strip the paint from the cabinets and varnish them. The counter top is too pale for my tastes, if you going stone then go dark but I much prefer warmer colours for counter tops. I think butchers block looks best. I'm not sure on the gap at the top of the cabinets, it seems like wasted space that'll only attract dust.
