YES. Yes they are and unironically to! The only thing they can do to hulk is call him racist.
I will never understand the left’s insistence on just plainly denying reality. Same thing happened with the assassination. So many people denying that it was badass for Trump to stand up and yell “Fight! Fight! Fight!” While pumping his fist. Even Cenk waterbuffalo admitted that was cool.

I guess when you can’t argue policy, but only “that guys is bad and sucks” you can never give an inch. You can’t say “yes that was cool, but you still shouldn’t vote for them because their platform is shit.” I’m not sure about the rhetorical effectiveness of their position though, since you can only deny the sky is blue and grass is green so often before people just don’t trust you.

I hate the constant, brainless Star Wars/Harry Potter comparisons, but that one got a chuckle out of me.

The li'l tongue!

I really like Vance's sense of humor, but I feel that, like Reagan, he should also come up with snarky bits that are moderately self-deprecating. Nothing too out there, but just make him feel like he can take a joke himself. Would completely crush the "Vance is butthurt because he's being told he's weird" point.
You haven't watched anything of him speaking for more than 15 seconds if you feel like he's the kind of person who can't take a joke.

I have, but the average leftist has only heard him say "childless cat lady" or "stolen valor." At most, they've heard him joke about Kamala and think he's an evil white male because he's making fun of the woman.

Seeing a lot of 44.6 % on X. Apparently kommie kam is backing biden on that tax rate for the rich ? i wonder how it'll go for her after the donor class look at it
Even worse is apparently she wants to tax unrealized capital gains, so if you have a stock/crypto that rises you have to pay a wealth tax on it even if you don't sell. This would kill investments in general.

If Vance self-deprecates by saying his favorite Magic card or saying who his waifu is, that would be fine. When his kid was talking to him about pokemon when Trump called him he should have mentioned "my kid was showing me Pikachu but I told him if it's not Blastoise, I don't care."
Inb4 his favorite card is crusade.
Though I would LOVE the media meltdown generated by that.

Wouldn't it mean that the only way to store large amounts of money would be to either have a trust hold it for you, or have it in large amounts of real estate?

...which would mean this shit ain't gonna do anything to the rich, and it'd increase the current housing shortage?

That would depend on his they go after real estate gains too, which they probably would so it would mean money fleeing out of the country.

No it would do the opposite. A tax on unrealized gains, especially real estate holdings, would cause the holders of those assets to have to sell prematurely in order to pay the taxes. Say you own an asset that's appreciated 500% (5x what you paid, which has not been uncommon in real estate and stocks in general over the past 20 years of QE) and then you get a tax bill for 44% of that on-paper profit. Most people don't have that much cash laying around so they'd have to sell assets to raise the cash. Everyone being forced to dump assets like this crashes the price but you still owe 44% on the valuation before the price collapsed.

These are not smart people.

I'm all for the market finally being allowed to correct after two decades of gov't fuckery inflating it but this ain't the way to do it.

"MUH VAXES" was Leftard shit until Biden got a check from Big Pharma and declared Big Pharma to be sainted.
Only a for a particular breed of granola leftardism. Growing up in a "liberal" haven I was brought to the impression that "antivaxer" was more akin to southern fundies or hillbillies or "conspiracy theorists" (which was generally portrayed as a right wing thing). Alex Jones has been staunchly anti-vax since I discovered him in the early 2000s.

Bingo. Dems aren't commies (lol) It's all cover to give advantages to their donors. Always has been.

It depends on how they word the bill. I’m not even sure it’s constitutional to tax such gains, there’s a very strong argument that you can’t tax unrealized gains because income (in the constitutional sense) requires a realization event. And unrealized gains, as the name suggests, lack.

And investing in land as an alternative isn’t exactly better for most people due to property tax, which can be killer in some states. Not to mention how it would fuck up the market big time.

God I wish basic economics was taught in schools and required to graduate. It’s insane we have people proposing these batshit insane policies and being taken seriously.
