Shoutout to the hacker with the biggest fumble of the year, could have done some funny shit with the redirect but wanted ass-pats from the farms, only to end up being hated by both parties.

Hope this hack is a wake up call to those SFW artists who INSIST in posting their drawings to FurAffinity.
Like, I feel sorry for FurAffinity users who are strictly SFW and only post SFW drawings without anything remotely sexual, questionable, or even fetishist. Like, cool, you only follow other SFW artists, you never favourited one single NSFW drawing, and you drew this detailed watercolor art of a slavic pagan warrior rabbit... It has 0 comments and 0 favorites. Despite how cool and detailed it looks, people only care about FA to goon, even if the art is low quality or made in MSPaint.
Artists like them should just redirect their talent to somewhere else instead, like Newgrounds for example.
It's like selling burgers on a strip club. Sure, they taste delicious, but shouldn't you be somewhere else?

I'm not the world's best cybersecurity expert EVAR!!!!11, but I have an idea on what could have led to this. Classic SIM swapping attack.
For those of you who seem to be living under a rock when it comes to cybersec, there's a thing with phone providers where you can transfer a number over to another SIM card. You can ring up a phone company and manipulate them through impersonating a victim who you have enough dox on (and Dragoneer has been doxed pretty throughly) into swapping the number that belongs to a victim's phone onto a burner phone.
After taking control of a number, what you can do is simply use the "Forgot Password" option on websites, which usually will send a text to a phone number, which in this case is now controlled by you, the evil haxx0r. If you can now manage to sign onto the E-mail that said victim uses, you can now hijack pretty much all other accs belonging to him.
This takes about a few days to go through on most cell providers, so the timing seems to line up with FA getting hacked just a few days right after Dragoneer croaks.
This is a very simple attack that most skids can do, it doesn't take a lot of skill, but it can do a lot of damage. If you want to prevent this from happening to you, use a hardware 2FA (ideally a seperate phone you only use for auth (through something like Aegis) or use a physical authentication key like a YubiKey.)

Null has stated that KF has nothing to do with the hack and it's clear the hacker wants to rope the site into it despite Null's statement. By roping the site into this drama, you're probably going to get a bunch of furries not aware of who was responsible for the hack to probably pull a Keffals and force KF to be taken offline.

Agreed. To the people here who are saying the "yiff in Hell" shit, this hacker not only posed a threat to FurAffinity, but they could pose a threat to this site as well. Some users are already pinning the blame on us for the hack and unless we directly inform them we were roped into this, they might come after us next.

Strictly SFW-only artists are a tiny minority.
Most SFW art comes from NSFW artists. I'm as degenerate as it gets, but even my gallery was like 50/50. There might be big commish artists who just draw only porn and those folks get all the praise and updoots, but those commissions will probably end up in mostly SFW galleries of their clients.
And SFW puriteens and christfaggot furries will get over it once their balls drop. Oh you're straight and don't watch yiff? Let's see where you're at in 2 years
