That's how i see it, too. He seems to me like he rather wants to be in a employer - employee relationship where he just needs to do his videos and that's it, i see that as the reason why he stayed so long with The Escapist. Scared, insecure or both.

There are some people whose personalities prevent them from being self-employed. It's not out of laziness or stupidity, it's just a personality thing. In fact, one thing with self-employed people is that they often run into conflict of "doing the actual work" and "running a business" which is where partnerships come into play, where the "businessman" and "worker" have equal shares but do vastly different work.

Second Wind doesn't need anyone else besides Nick (the "business" side) and Yahtzee (the "talent" side). Everyone else is either talentless hangers-on or decent content creators who shouldn't stand by and watch Nick and Yahtzee vacuum up the Patreon dollars.

Oh, i am absolutely with you here, i think Yahtzee is smart enough to be aware of his limitations and i don't think there's anything wrong with just wanting to do your job and clock out after it's done, so to speak. Seen it with people IRL. I haven't followed the Second Wind situation but from what i am reading here it sounds like it's the exact same shit as with The Escapist, he's the only pull and everyone else might as well not exist.
