There's an extreme horror book, called The Slob. Like most extreme horror, it's edgy for the sake of edgy trash which confuses being disgusting for being frightening. However, there is a moment in the book that I've been thinking about more and more, because I'm starting to think that perhaps the author completely inadvertently stumbled across something of a revelation about men - specifically gay men and, by extension, trans women.
The book features a group of wealthy, cannibalistic gay men, who sell the butchered remains of women tinned as T.Y.G. - 'Tender Young Girls'.
The motivation behind their doing this is because of hatred of women that stems from the fact that they can never be women. And they all want to be women, because they know in their hearts that men do not love men in the same way that men love women and they hate them for it out of jealousy. These men believe that by eating the flesh of women they'll become more feminine, more like women, and thus, closer to receiving the love they crave, but will never ever experience.
Now, obviously, it's exaggerated to the point of horror because, y'know, it's a horror novel, and places like Reddit and Tumblr are of course decrying how homophobic that part of the book is... But when I think about how many gay men and ESPECIALLY trannies absolutely despise women and are not shy about sharing that misogyny, I cannot help but think that there might be a grain of truth to that.
Men don't love other men in the same way that men love women. Relationships between gay men are generally quite opportunistic, very much transactional, very much a means to an end. There's also, nine times out of ten, degenerate sex shit involved that - and maybe this is just me - doesn't seem like the sort of thing you'd do in a healthy relationship with someone you loved and respected. It's well documented that gay men are ludicrously promiscuous and how many trannies have we seen banding together in disgusting polycules?
I dunno, man, none of this is to say that straight men are any better, of course, and feel free to rate me Autistic or whatever because I'm probably just sperging out here about something completely stupid, but I just can't stop thinking about that idea.
