Zack's biggest selling point, other than being funny at the time and all the drama caused by Waid and assorted retards, is that he ultimately seemed like a friendly, normal guy with a somewhat tragic backstory. When I found his channel before CG became a name, it instantly made me want to take his side because he seemed like an underdog who was genuinely just interested in making his dream book and talking about comics earnestly, without any regard for sponsors or industry contacts. His terrible video quality and awkward speaking style just added to that impression. But I don't think people finding his channel these days will have the same impression, and I don't think the same kind of audience will return.
