He's just reading the lines off the screen. He's not acting, changing the voices, adding life to them or anything. He's just reading and he somehow thinks that this put him above other streamers?

Watched some of his Pokemon Moon videos, at the start he makes different voices for each character, but its just a poor attempt, 2-3 videos in he just reads the text.

But he's putting so much effort into it gaiz! Can't you hear the effort he's putting into it? Cah-monnnn. That's fucking bullshit dude! You know he's the most talented streamer out there who continually puts out kwality khantent each and every single time. ACKACKACKACKACK!

Of course the problem is when he starts something like that he can't maintain it. I really can't watch a lot of his videos for more than a few minutes at a time. I'm not a huge gamer but even I can see that he's playing them all wrong. Just adding voices to your playthrough will not suddenly transform it into gold when it's been absolute shit up until now.

Of course the problem is when he starts something like that he can't maintain it. I really can't watch a lot of his videos for more than a few minutes at a time. I'm not a huge gamer but even I can see that he's playing them all wrong. Just adding voices to your playthrough will not suddenly transform it into gold when it's been absolute shit up until now.

Usually have to pause his videos and take a break from his videos, can't stand them long term.
Even when it comes to game i don't play or haven't played the prequel of, i can many times see what he is supposed to do but he fails to see himself. Adding commentary to this video has been his big claim for years, just because he touch a controller and make jokes (talks) now and then his videos are transformative work and is untouchable by law, now suddenly he reads some text and it suddenly something more, something bigger and clear proof his his greatness.

As an aside, I started Phantom Pain and I'm not totally into it. To me it's just too easy and the game over-explains everything. I'm not even into the Metal Gear games in general. It's so easy that when you restart from a checkpoint you get restocked ammo and if the guards are on alert they go back to being passive. I just took out the Skulls with the Honeybee (you can see how early I am in the game yet) and I beat it on my first try.

I don't understand how even Phil could fuck this up. And I've been doing a pseudo-Rambo style of play where I tranq a few guys and take them back to the base. Then when my suppressor is gone I just say "fuck it" and take on the rest.

He brags about S ranks in that game when they are time based not stealth based. He rushes through the game so he gets a high score. It's very dumb that it works like that, so a scrub like him gets his ego stroked.
But hey, you tell him the mechanics behind it, he'll just tell you to shut the fuck up and block you in denial.

Having actually bought Moon myself, I decided to skip through some of his Moon video's out of morbid curiosity (thank god for 5-second fast-forward or rewinding!) and I just shrug at his awful attempts at trying to be witty or interesting. (Sperging alert)

He tries to give the player character's mother a female falsetto but can't keep it up since he's too lazy to even keep that up consistently. Has to immediately make suggestive sex jokes the instant something with a double meaning to it pops up as well and he seriously didn't know that Pikachu, you know, the mascot of the series, is supposed to be a mouse-type Pokémon. Just...urgh.

Then during the starter Pokémon scene he can't pass up the opportunity to give the local guardian who gives the choice for the starter a slouchy fat guy voice because he has a bit of a gut, not realizing the irony of it all, and shrugs off Litten for looking typically evil, (real expert in visuals here, folks)
and picks Popplio who besides the well-known screencap of giving him the Sealtard name he has to make that ear-screeching 'Popplio-pio' joke a dozen times.

That's where I just gave up on trying to subject myself to his raw footage. And this is what he bitched about after the stream to his viewers about lack of stream attendance, that 'enjoying the game and voice-acting'? He's indeed reading the text and doing piss-poor attempts at falsetto voices he gives up shortly anyway yet he expects peepul to flock in and give him vjuz attendance like they owe him something?

Phil must have a very skewed perception of what the definition of 'effort' truly means.

Also Metokur's commentary over Phil in that Star Wars game is just golden. Like, I could listen to him rambling on and on about Phil far more easily than hearing Mr. Gout's vanilla bitching any day.

The way he talked it sounds like enjoying the game and voice acting is a thing that's unique to him, like it's the main draw. If he bothered to watch other streamers he'll realise that they too enjoy the games and do "voice acting". So what makes him so special?

Nvm, i do it anyway, all other YTers and streamers dont voice act, they just put on a show, all their videos and streams are scripted by a huge crew hiding behind the cameras, while he is a one man business, meaning he put his entire heart and soul into it unlike everyone else on the internet.

And that is why him reading texts is much more special and important than anyone else.
