Law Man in Florida arrested for creating Child porn through AI prompts

A Florida man is facing 20 counts of obscenity for allegedly creating and distributing AI-generated child pornography, highlighting the danger and ubiquity of generative AI being used for nefarious reasons.

Phillip Michael McCorkle was arrested last week while he was working at a movie theater in Vero Beach, Florida, according to TV station CBS 12 News. A crew from the TV station captured the arrest, which made for dramatic video footage due to law enforcement leading away the uniform-wearing McCorkle from the theater in handcuffs.

he investigation kicked off after Indian River County Sheriff's Office received tips that McCorkle was prompting an AI image generator to make child sexual imagery and distributing it via the social media app Kik.

McCorkle's arrest was part of a county operation taking down people possessing child pornography, but the generative AI wrinkle in this particular arrest shows how technology is generating new avenues for crime and child abuse.

That's a separate discussion
It's not a discussion. This guy has been arrested and, if the pre-existing law is followed, will be convicted and put into a sex offenders registry. No ifs and buts.

The president fucked his granddaughter and we're going after guys who had pixels on his computer
Whataboutism. They should both be put to death.

I don't care about what is right or wrong, I care about if there is a victim or not.
And this is why no society in history will ever give people like you the ability to make or enforce the law

But that isn't the consensus almost anywhere. It's not whataboutism, it's exposing a double standard and retardation of the legal system

Man, somebody can just outright apply the ban hammer on @Suel Forrester ?
Every comment is just the same plus more retard words, for god's sake.
Pink triangle for this homo ^^^^

I sense a "Debate user @Suel Forrester on the legality of watching child pornography" thread in you immediate future

I'm not sure why, there's not much debate. Watching, distributing, creating, etc child pronography should be illegal and punishable by death.

Anyone who wants to make a thread can copy paste this post

When you see someone getting charged with 'obscenity' in the US, it's almost always going to be just another charge being slapped on them cause there's already a worse crime they've committed.
The last time I heard of an obscenity charge was a dude that operated a site for pedos to post their written porn on, it was the only charge.

Bro. An ai image is a cartoon. It's computer generated. It's not real. It's pixels creating a picture of something that doesn't exist

Jesus christ no wonder they have you faggots wearing masks
Do you understand how these generative AI models work? If you do, then you should understand that any image generated based on a prompt is pulling images from a known database of other images it has been trained on… IE the AI pics are derivative of actual CP.

My bad didn't know if i should include the whole article or just a snippet
You should always include the whole article. Most people don't even read it, but a local archive is the most important thing in A&N.

Then why are you defending a guy that watched, distributed, and created child pornography?

An AI image, by its very nature, needs pre-existing data to be created. Now, what kind of data would an AI model need to create nude images of children?

And the only way a computer can "remember" something is to store it. That means the AI he was using is most likely storing CSAM in the form of tokenized latent images.
