The game never had a chance seeing as its devs seem dead set on alienating as many people as possible in the quickest amount of time.

I'm likely in the minority that isn't put off by the characters... that much. The gameplay looks decent fun some of the mechanics look good just a shame the devs don't want it to succeed.

Yeah, fugly characters and generally nasty art style aside it looks like your standard procedure FOTM hero shooter, but that's not necessarily bad if you're into that kind of game. Sometimes you want a break from the "big game" and if this had a decent player count it'd probably be perfectly serviceable.

I don't know what's gotten into the minds of these developers though. There must be some hitherto unexplored self-destructive tendencies in wokeness that warrant further study. These guys just did everything wrong, and seemingly on purpose. It boggles the mind.

Eight years of development and typical suit trend-chasing suggests this was probably a case of sunk costs. Some people probably realized this game had a snowball's chance in hell to succeed, but were either shouted down or forced out.

Oh there ain't no rest for Le wicked

if im being honest, the diaherric character design and gender shit was a factor, but it was a secondary thing, most normalfags dont really care about culture war autism, the biggest thing is that it was entering an already extremely saturated market (hero shooters) theres no fucking way it was going to go toe-to-toe with Overwatch when Overwatch players are already playing Overwatch, I will never understand why Publishers think pushing out Overwatch Clone #3801 will somehow be a successful game automatically

They probably saw Epic's moonshot pivot pay off with Fortnite (cloning PUBG: Battlegrounds) and figured they could (ironically) "clone" that success with Overwatch.

Unlike these idiots though, Epic really lucked out having an existing product they could contort into a battle arena game quickly instead of having to start something from scratch, and having PUBG starting to show its warts and limitations. I'm still a little bitter at the loss of what Fortnite was originally going to be (same build system that's in the current game, but used for PvE tower defense gameplay). It could have really been cool. Can't say I blame Epic for the pivot though; it was absolutely the right move.

I remember when I saw footage of the PVE mode from the devs months or more before any thing else and was generally really interested in it. it also still pisses me off what fortnite has turned into.

Fucking lmao, oh i needed another Lawbreakers this year, at least Hyenas had the dignity of not releasing.View attachment 6340379
I am 100% convinced Sony is out of touch, they have killed so many of their first-party IPs and they instead choose to shit out a shitty hero shooter and shill it to the death, honestly the only thing that could save the company at this point is to fire every executive of Sony Interactive Entertainment

Xander Farrell, one of the devs of Concord, is attacking gamers over criticism, calling them "talentless freaks". Now he's deleting his posts to hide the evidence. Luckily people like Grummz and Vara Dark saved screenshots. And there's more of him acting like an ass.

EDIT: A Bounding Into Comics article now talks about Xander Farrell calling gamers "talentless freaks".

It looks like Weenieskeet ran out of money to threaten to disappear journos, given the 69 Metacritic score in the critic category:

Despite the low scores for a PS5 game, there are still some coping articles for the game:

Spare a thought for poor Concord, a kind and earnest shooter sent out to die / (Archived) - The title reminds me how Kamala Harris is being described as right now, minus the "JOY" references.

Concord Review In Progress / (Archived)

An Italian reviewing site gave the game a 6/10.
