The fat guy's face is decent and looks like it was taken from a completely different character model. You'd expect someone of that size to be considerably uglier looking.

I was thinking this too, heavy weapons guy was UNDENIABLY obese, but he was a strong-fat body-type, like if a ripped ass body builder THEN also became a fat fuck. And honestly that body type is actually semi charming in a way, because the sheer strength of "bear" type body balances it out. Hell, heavy was basically the icon of tf2, and nobody complained, and he was universally loved

It also loos like the face is overly skinny, which makes you wonder if the dude has cancer or just an insane beer gut, or what, since the bulge isn't even proportional. It makes you think they have some SEVERE health issue

LastNinjaCow must have felt like Abraham Lincoln when he wrote down his little speech. There is a tiny amount of truth to what he wrote. If you enjoy a game and have a small community to do so with, great. But stop pretending this is some historical moment and a hill you have to die on. It's just a fucking video game. Why are people like this ?

The worst part is, the reveal trailer made this game look and sound a bit like a cross between GotG and Battlefield Bad Company. Then they rug pulled into whatever the fuck the abomination of hero shooter it currently is.

This game is salvageable but they need to do two things immediately and before releasing content:
1) Build a fun single-player, or co-op, romp across a universe with well written dialogue, in the vein of the daft-yet-fun BF:BC and add it to the game for free. It doesn't have to be 25 or 12 hours, even 4 hours of tightly executed fun as a baseline, which can be expanded with future paid expansions.

2) Through the campaign, introduce better looking characters that can be used in multiplayer only by unlocking them in the campaign. If they want to claw some money back, build expansion episodes to the campaign with new characters, guns and locations, only unlockable via the campaign.

There's an interesting world, universe and some interesting characters to be found in this shit-heap of a game and maybe even a diamond. But they need help refining it from one of the Sony studios and it needs to ditch the gayness and wokeness immediately. Make sexy, crass, politically incorrect characters. Make a Bender character; one that's an arsehole that you love to enjoy being an arsehole.

unfortunately every human being involved with this game's development is incapable of doing these things, or understanding that they would absolutely breathe some life into the game. they made the game the way it is because they truly believed this was the path to take.

some things i've seen say the real ticket may be up to $300 million out of sony's pocket
considering they managed an amount of players that makes suicide squads paltry numbers look impressive, it very well might be the biggest flop ever

The game was 6-7 years into development when Sony bought the studio. I wouldn't know how the overall price breaks down but between development costs and the acquisition, everyone is down a load of money that absolutely eclipses the $100-200m. $300m isn't an unreasonable guess.

When you think of games that have gotten "fixed", be it from 2.0 patches (Cyberpunk, Destiny 2), re-releases (FF14), or years of eating shit and diligently updating the game (NMS), the common element is that underneath the shit launch version, there was a game that people wanted. No one wants another hero shooter. The market is saturated and the genre is a joke. Even if God himself intervened, firing all the genderspecial diversity hires and making the game Based and Red Bulled™, I don't see how it would make a difference. People like a comeback story but they like to gravedance even more.

This does not even make sense in the context of the lore. They are what - outlaws running around the galaxy fighting all the time. How would a character like this exist? They would - by the very nature of their job - be fit.

I could see having tons of muscles due to non-stop eating/fighting, but this body type would not exist.
