They're retarded and think it's a 'black person disease'. (The only person I ever knew who had vitiligo was white. The patches were kind of like a localized sunburn.)
I'm surprised it took this long for someone to mention the fact that vitiligo isn't exclusive to black people. Without powerleveling too hard, I'm a "white" guy who has vitiligo on my forearms and around my shoulders.
I used to be super self-conscious about it and when this whole push for "representation" starting popping up more heavily in media, at no point did I think to myself, "wow, I feel represented!". Instead, I thought "why the fuck would you do that to a character as an intentional design choice?". I'll never understand the need to glorify health conditions in fictional characters. Especially shit like Rainbow Six Seige's upcoming operator who is a crippled wheelchair-bound mystery meat woman. Except her gameplay revolves around operating two combat robots, so she's really just a cripple skin for the equivalent of two robots in a trenchcoat.
Like you said, I haven't met enough people in my life with vitiligo to need two hands to count them, and I certainly never saw that particular demographic making any outcry about a lack of representation. It's such a weird thing to suddenly just show up.
I wonder how long it'll be before albinos start making regular appearances in woke video games. I know albino characters exist, but never portrayed as how sickly and fragile as they actually are.

AS FOR DUSTBORN, it would be funny if it weren't so fucking grim. I know a woke indie game isn't a very good overall indicator of the game industry right now, but it's definitely a curious use of Norwegian tax dollars. It's just all so tiresome, fellas. I miss when video games were made by nerdy white guys who listened to butt rock and played legitimate non-pozzed DnD.
Edit: Apologies for anyone who had to read this shit in it's various edit iterations. I am a fool and a buffoon who has been here far too long to not understand basic formatting tools.
