The thing I don't get is why it took one guy going on a stream and confronting him about Derich for DSP to do this after so long of him dodging it at every opportunity. It's like he refuses to believe anything detractors say, surely one of his whales brought Derich to his attention at some point?
I don't think he's genuinely trying to shelter a pedo. Maybe it's something more like, he's spent so long saying that tractors all mouthdrooling morahns who do nothing but lie he doesn't want to admit when they're right on something because it harms his ego.

Because Phil by default assumes information that comes from detractors is lies. It's why PPP and other "trust sources" have to tell him something is true before he believes it. Someone told him Derich was a child toucher and then he said "those crazy slanderous trolls lying again!" then wrote it off. Phil followed Derich for a bit on his twitter then unfollowed him so he knew he was a gooner but there is no pedo shit on his twitter.

Phil's legit fans in chat complained about Derich all the time. They hated Derich most of all because he's a worthless spammer that was above the rules. There is no chance that Phil hasn't known for years.

This detractor lie isn’t even relevant, Brian directly confronted Phil about derich before.

We’ve been speculating for years why Phil gives derich special treatment, he’s always treated him weirdly unique on stream.

The only difference this time is he got jumped on the topic live in front of people, he couldn’t wiggle his way out like playing dumb with chat or half assing the Brian email

The thing that is so weird about the Derich thing is that MULTIPLE times DSP has called people out in chat for even “talking about” Derich. He’s banned people for tagging Derich in chat. Even before all these allegations, on Twitch, Derich would send people messages and say “Tell Phil that I said…” and Phil would read these messages exclusively—even with no tip/cheer attached to them It’s always been so weird.

Phil says “well it’s off stream so I can’t be responsible” Yeah, that isn’t the issue, Phil. The issue is when you give this ONE person with KNOWN issues and MULTIPLE complaints, and you ignore them. He even ignored Brian who personally sent him an email and according to Brian (per his interview) Phil’s response was, quote, “disappointing.”

But I’m happy to see that Phil finally got rid of this guy.

Derich got special email treatment too DSP would constantly read and reply to his stuff by his own admission. Like legit Derich was the closest thing DSP has to a friend in the last decade so I guess it's not surprising he pushed back pretty hard.

Just to give a bit of lore on the playlists, the archive was made on 2017, which means that Derich was 15 years old when those playlists were still there. You can see 3 of them specifically dedicated to "little girls", for a total of 676 hand picked videos.

He was confronted by @KingjadVCMP and TXT I believe, and it was when he stated that he deleted them:

You can also private playlists too I just want to add. I would say theres no real evidence that he deleted them unless he actually shows proof.

I think this was part of it. If detractors stayed quiet about Derich, there's a good chance he'd have eaten a ban years ago because he seems to genuinely annoy Phil, and definitely annoys his chat.

I think the other factor was Derich had a retard shield. It was part of the reason Phil had to tiptoe around with SuperBlindMan, even Phil knows it's bad optics to ban someone with a legit condition. SuperBlindMan only got in trouble because he dared to challenge Phil, and even then, Phil never really unloaded on him or anything, he just stopped being supportive. I think Phil was just waiting for Derich to step out of line to justify banning him, but because of the above mentioned reasons, he couldn't use detractor justification to ban him. But if Derich had ever liked...talked politics or said something negative about Phil, I'm sure he'd seize on that and play it off as Derich turning into a troll to justify the ban. I also think some of those "accidental" Derich bans weren't really accidents, although whether that was Phil or a mod that was tired of the spam is anyone's guess.
