If those fags like Nerdrotic, Quartering, Critical Drinker didn't have shitty Star Wars or Marvel movies to cry about, the would never create content. Like, yeah those shows are all terrible but these cocksuckers will make daily videos about every piece of slop like it's important news and will pretend to be so outraged about it. The funny thing is that most of these shills hardly review movies they like! Imagine having a show about reviewing movies but never finding anything you actually enjoy because you're a middle aged faggot with funkopops in the background and can only make content based on being outraged over Disney coonsumer slop.

I really like how the RLM navigated youtube/influncer trends

The plinket reviews were honetly funny well thought video essay about they the prequal trilogy sucked, and were nothing like mondern day rage bait or even SJW bait.

They then were able to parlay into HITB and Re:View plus others

The outrage media people cant do that.

On the other hand its weird that for year hollywood shit on their viewers.

I still laught at how they tried to make shit over "joker"

Hey friends! I forgot I took this photo from our Alien HITB recently. A little perspective on how we never clean up anything. We are scum. Also Jay said he was outside doing yard work or something and his hair was getting in his face and it was hot outside etc, so he just shaved it on a whim. I've known Jay a long time and he's done this MANY times before. Grown his hair for years and then decided to buzz it off. The man cares little to nothing about his personal appearance.

We've received hundreds of thousands of letters of concern about Jay's hair. I can assure you he does not have cancer. He has not become a Nazi. He has not started a meth lab. He was not in prison recently. He has not joined a cult. He has not joined a gay biker gang. He did not lose a bet. Everything is fine at RLM. Although Rich Evans has passed away. In lieu of flowers please donate to www.fastfoodfails.org a wonderful charity that helps the loved ones after a fast food accident such as choking, slurping incident, eye injury, brain rot, and heart attack. I'm not saying that's what happened to Rich. I'm just saying it's a great charity that helps people that, say, have had a someone who passed peacefully and gently with a sausage pizza in their throat surrounded by family and loved ones.

See, this is the issue I’m having more and more with the takes about anti-modern audience creators.

All the people you named aren’t even the same caliber of youtuber. It gets complained about that they lack nuance when tearing into Hollywood, but then they’re discussed in the same manner.

It’s like people who spout the pre-programmed script about the Farms. “They’re racist/sexist/doxxers!” Yeah, some users are, and there’s a shit ton who aren’t any of those things. The people saying that would know if they looked at the Farms, and not just listened to other people who’ve never been on here.
It’s just blindly labeling and complaining about them blindly labeling and complaining.

I’ll leave that as my last word on it for this thread, but it’s such trite damned if you/damned if you don’t bullshit masquerading as “critical”.

On topic:
Jay’s hair gave the performance of its life during Covid. It’s interesting to see this new career move.

Those people are the opposite side of what the nerd crew parodied. People focused on blockbusters saying cinema is dead. (It could be performative to make money or they genuinely believe it)
To be a grifter, you have to be lying for the money. If you're telling the truth and getting paid, that's just being a columnist.

I mean it's pretty easy to pump out videos on a certain section of cinema like corporate sci-fi and cape shit and talk about how it's all gone to shit and tie it to culture war gayness and only look at negatives.

Now if you wanted to review something positive, then you need to do research and be able critically analyse why it's good and have a good knowledge of film. But it's easier and probably more profitable to cut a ten minute sperg out about DISNEY HAS GONE WOKE! everyday.

Do they have any relationship with Kyle Gallner yet? Mike mentioned something about a tweet in the video, but I wasn't sure if he meant that Kyle tweeted directly at them or just a tweet in general.

Seems like it could become similar to Len Kabasinski where they start changing their views on the output of the person because they have some sort of relationship. The moment Len appeared on BOTW they basically stopped reviewing his movies for example, which is a shame because they were absolute piles of shit and it was fun to see them lampoon them.

That could have been a way to pivot to constructive criticism of Len's movies which would effectively function as commercials without explicit endorsement. Then again, I watched Space Cop.

Because outrage gets views. I only feel bad/pity for people who don't get money off watching this crap and posting about how bad it is.

Hate watching is a strange phenomenon. Spend time doing something you'd actually enjoy, don't give this garbage any clicks/attention. You are not going to save the franchise. Find something you actually enjoy and give money/attention to it instead.

Mst3k and rifftrax have proven there's a solid business in mocking the terrible

I think it was Greg Owen that made a video that goes into why negative videos get more views than positive ones.

Makes sense, really. When you have the media telling you that you have to like what they like, you're going to seek out differing opinions to help you understand why what you think isn't total lunacy. And a lot of times, the loudest voices are the loudest because they're the most frustrated.

I am so thankful they talked about Strange Darling. I watched it and saw most of the spoilers, but even with those I was amazed. I thought Late Night with the Devil was damn good for a modern horror/thriller, but this is one of the best movies I've seen in so long. Best since Oppenheimer for sure.

Saw it on a fmovies site and it was a cam of the screen, but great picture. Sound was a little rough though. This is one I might go to see at the theater again, because it looks like it'll be some time for a good stream quality copy.

Even at 90 minutes it's one of those ones they probably could've gone over 2 hours with and been fine, but I appreciate the tight run time. Think top end Fincher/Cohen/Tarantino mix without feeling derivative at all.
