The only bit about DSP I've known was that he jacked off on the stream unknowingly once, but seeing him go to such lengths to defend his choice to not ban a confirmed pedo made me side with "the detractors". I remember PPP and Andy banned Vito immediately when they've noticed him subbing to their channel in a stream a couple of months ago, a swift and just response, but DSP is just "not my problem, I'd rather side with a pedo than let detractors win".

I'm surprised nobody brought that up during the stream. Not only did KF express skepticism about the whole Phil hiring a European hooker thing, one of the mods wound up exposing an extortion plot. yes he does. this isn't a streamer with 10,000 viewers per stream. phil has 20 regular viewers, if one of them is consistently called out as a pedophile, then yes, phil has an obligation to look into that.

Never thought I'd live long enough to witness Phil(reluctantly)ban Derich. Good riddance. To think it took Null, Andy "STAY. THE FUCK. BAAAAACK!" Warski, and the fat dude I never heard of, on some podcast I never heard of, to get him to ban Derich instead of listening to Brian is wild. Like some mentioned, he'll probably be back on an alt account, but I think it would funny if Derich fucked off instead and Phil just sulks over the fact he's no longer getting support from his pedo stepson.

Someone made a video I unfortunately did not save on YT titled "DSP: Gacha King" and that video was the bit that really brought it home for me. It was basically just a montage of Phil playing Genshin Impact and I swear to God, you've never seen him more excited and genuinely enjoying himself than when he was doing Genshin pulls.

This is a very late and gay reply but I thought I'd weigh in with one possibility. I'm not saying this is what it is, it's just behavior I've noticed elsewhere so it can't be ruled out.

Phil is desperate to keep streaming his job and not have to get a real one, right? He likely panics at just the mere thought of losing any source of potential income. If he has a viewer who gives him lots of money, or does things for him for free, he wants to keep them on, ignoring all faults they might have. I've known people who just barely make a living with their online thing of choice, and the loss of a regular whale could cripple them, I think Phil has the same mindset. They put up with these whales no matter how retarded they might be out of fear that the whale cannot be replaced, whether they agree with the whale's bullshit or not.

This is just one possibility, but at least to me it makes sense. Another possibility (which can coexist with others) is that Phil absolutely does not want to give the haters a "win" no matter what, even if it actually makes him look worse (similar behavior can be observed in many other lolcows). We definitely saw that behavior elsewhere on today's stream.

Derich didn't give Phil money though, except for supposedly a membership that he paid for with his mom's credit card and he got in trouble.

There are other examples though, such as CanadianKirk and OIC that would be banned for good if they weren't whales that paid to stay in his chat.

I agree that he doesn't want to give the haters a win, he says as much.
As far as I know Derich stopped tipping/subbing after he got caught using his mom's credit card which was years ago. He's been leeching off gifted subs for quite a while. Phil was either protecting him since he was one of the few "true fans" or possibly had dirt on him.
