Apparently the conditions that they gave the organizers was that there has to be zero interactions between me and them. That means we won't be on the same team, and they will not be in my skill division. Obviously I'm going to be in the beginner level. And also I'm going to get absolutely destroyed. But they will not be in that skill division so we will not fight 1v1. And Sajam even asked me if I was okay and comfortable with it a few days ago, and if I was really uncomfortable and stressed out about the whole situation they won't let them participate. I was honestly really surprised that he even gave me that option since this was the first time anyone has ever asked this of me. And he didn't have to do that, and I won't lie, I was really anxious, but I said it is not fair to kick the player out when they were not involved or responsible, especially when I know they are very passionate about fighting games and the FGC community. And they really want to be here and I will not take that away from them. And we all know that I suck at fighting games and me getting kicked out won't really matter that much in the long run [laughter] so I was honestly really surprised that Sajam wanted to make sure I was okay when it was really just easier to ask me to step down instead. And I've been outcast before, I've been ostracized in the past, I was even denied entry for tournaments and events in the last six months, so I know how it feels to be excluded and I don't want that for others especially if the event is something they are passionate about. So I told Sajam that we shouldn't take away their chance to participate and ruin their experience due to the actions of others. So basically, I know going in there's going to be a lot of reactions when the announcements came out so I just had to basically mentally prepare myself in advance type deal. Which is fine, I knew in advance and I just had to mentally prepare myself and make sure my mods understand what's going on as well. So, I'm making sure that noone's going to get in trouble and starting here there will be zero interactions with them as per the rules, and we're just gonna vibe and have fun. It is a for-fun tournament and I'm here to have fun, and this will be the last time I will talk about it going forward and it'll be the last time I'm addressing the elephant in the room type deal.

Japanese vsinger Shiratama Utano from Poverty Row studio UniVirtual had her 3D debut and first 3D live concert the other day. No elaborate idol dance routines or anything, just a woman who can sing really goddamn well doing a little live rock show. I generally prefer this kind of small-scale thing to the massive Hololive-style idol productions, so maybe some of you will, too.

If we're talking good vtuber music, might was well shill Utano's original song, Mirai Shomei, while I'm at it.

Good on Doki. Don't watch Victoria, but I do recall her being a fan of both Selen & Pomu. I hope she does get a chance to at least have a chat with Doki under Niji's nose just to so she can finally meet her oshi.

Hopefully Doki's mods are on point and on guard when the collab happens. We all know the die hard Niji fans/assholes are gonna try to ruin it for her.

Did she join Nijisanji before or after the Doki/Selen stuff came to light? Because I can't imagine why you'd want to work for a company that treated your oshi like that.

You'd think at this point Hololive would have getting Perms down pat, but I guess not.

She joined before the selen stuff came to light (27th October 2023), around 4-5 months before the shenanigans with Selen/Doki come to light. Combined with her oshi being selen, no one really believed that she has anything to do with the whole fiasco and the attentions she gets are mostly pity over the fact that she wasn't able to collab with her oshi before the whole mess happened.

I don't believe that nijisisters are going to seethe and mald over it, but you probably gonna see people getting disappointed or unhappy at Niji for essentially petty enough to not let this two to interact.

How is it possible that Doki, 6 months after her termination, has (still) the power to decide who from Nijisanji can participate in an independent event? It's mind-boggling.

IIRC she started sometime around November of last year, so a month or two before everything went to shit

EDIT: Ninja'd while I slept

The only Vtuber songs I listen to regularly are Fauna Sweep and Pero's YMCA karaoke.
and tenma's "mother!!!"

i thought the phase connect nyc live was lots of fun. i've had zero exposure to uruka so i was blown away at just how good she sounded. she is clearly VERY comfortable and confident performing in this way and it makes her enjoyable to watch. by contrast the minty maid seems like a talented vocalist etc but her chibi rigging really gave me the ick. i thought the performance of pippa the ripper was an improvement on the original and that tenma kicked ass. lia was lia-- nothing against her, just not a vtuber i personally enjoy outside of occasional clips.

at 43:00 exactly on the VOD you can here a dang dirty male (fishman?) saying "okay" and something else. the held-pose transitions were, i assume, how they cut between actually-live parts vs the pre-recorded performances? or is that just some idol tradition i haven't encountered. anyway overall everybody did great imo
