Does it matter? Either way Phil got felted badly. If he did ban him - he lost one of his few genuine fans and did what the detractors wanted/told him to do. If he didn't - he shows himself as a pedo sympathizer who won't do anything even when presented with proof.

The only problem I have with this whole thing is that Phil really died on that hill to keep his son and wasn't questioned more about why he wants to harbor a pedophile so much. Why do these people still want to associate with him ? They were so appalled that Derich was who he was but Phil vehemently defending him is ok if he just bans him (on one channel btw)

I saw Derich's message (he just wished Phil a good stream) in chat disappear around the time Phil declared "it's done!", so there's no doubt in my mind he's banned. For how long though is the true question.

What exactly is going on? It feels like a cabal of drama hounds and tard wranglers are playing My Fair Lolcow; trying to civilize and repair the reputation of dudes like DSP. I mean, Null corrected the vocabulary of an arrogant 42 year old college graduate and former high school valedictorian who he just met. I am a bit confused why banning Derich is such a huge deal. We are talking about the guy who advised an openly racist person how to evade bans, right? How is him forced to ban Derich somehow a redeeming quality?

Gotta say, the little chat between Null and Dsp was a surprising change of pace. Always fun to see Null interact with lolcows in such a manner. I dont get why people are coming here saying that we are angry and seething. I see this as a breath of fresh air in the Dsp story.

Because it was public. Phil’s MO has always been to tell people to email him to discuss bans (lifting or imposing) on people in his chat. This is so he can control the narrative. Whether Derich actually comes back or not, there’s now incontrovertible proof of Phil being confronted on a aspect of his “business” and snapping like a twig when asked to justify it.

It’s just another thing that he will never live down. Null seems to be pretty good at milking a cow when he sets down to it. Very subtle. Knows when to grab the teat without spooking Bessie so she doesn’t bolt or kick him in the head.

Running speculation or theory however you'd like to call it. Is that Phil somewhat sees himself in derich, so just cutting ties would be a hard thing to do, wouldn't be surprised if a hard conversation has happened behind the scenes, as even he probably knows that having a resurgence doesn't excuse defending pedofilic coomer behaviour.

There were multiple fake Derich's yesterday. How do we know he banned the real one? Would be a DSP move to just ban the first Derich and claim it's been done..

Something that would have been fun to have in the conversation yesterday - he admitted Derich made tiermakers for him. This means that e-mail communication must have been established between Phil and Derich. How many emails are they exchanging I wonder?

I wouldn’t call that hesitation, hesitation would be like Phil asking for proof and then banning him, which is fair.
What Phil did is try to contort himself into any possible way he doesn’t have to ban Derich and give the trolls a win.
