In addition to the $200,000 John has, by his own admission, blown, we also have an indirect admission of how much of a failure Rev 60 was. 250k*.02=5k downloads by John's admission.

Doing basic math, you're left with a $333,000 loss, without accounting for the time Frank sunk into this project, or further losses from the PC version.

So we're at a $533,000 net loss so far over the course of this career. That is not even beginning to account for the 10 years at Mississippi State or any other unmentioned failures.

We could go on to hypotheticals with the amount John could have earned working an unskilled job up to his current age of 39.
I am going to be extremely generous in my projected losses here and assume that John started working at 18 and was never capable of earning beyond minimum wage. At that rate, Google tells me that you'll have ~$14k/yr after taxes (we'll ignore the Social Security/Medicare benefits and any interest, being once again generous). So $14,000*21 years of potential earnings gets us a figure of $294,000.

Adding this to the current direct loss of $533,000 you get a minimum direct and indirect loss of $827,000.

So you know about all of those rags-to-riches stories you hear where someone works their way up the corporate ladder from fry cook to CEO or bootstraps out of Meth country to become a doctor or lawyer? You just know that somewhere there's got to be an equally monumental fuck-up to balance that out.
Here's a fuckup to the better part of a million dollars.

I'm sick and tired of this lie. There are totally men and minorities represented in Rev 60. They just happen to all be Chinese men and are only enemies that exist to be shot in the face. I'm starting to think if any of them weren't wearing helmets we'd see some screaming faces. Perhaps Wu's Nerf war is the closet we'll ever get to Rev 62.

In the case of the iPhone version of Rev60, is that the actual number for sales or the number for downloads? The iPhone version did have a free version that allowed you to play the first little part of the game before asking you to purchase it.

Awesome post, a lot of that needs to get in the lolcow wiki article's appropriate section on dear John. Only thing wrong with it is that Ole Piss at Oxford is not the same place as Mississippi State in Starkville. It probably costs more just for beginners, plus John Flynt would have been gay-bashed at MSU in the 90's at some point for being a mouthy little queer to the wrong redneck learning about farm animal husbandry most likely if he matriculated there instead of his parents legacy admissions flagship state institution where appearing genteel, while being anything but of course, is still a point of emphasis even up until today.
