I guess I'm still is a pseudo denial phase. I don't have a strong attachment to the onion but I did enjoy having her around. With Coco, it made sense why she left: She wanted to go further than Cover was comfortable with. Sana leaving made sense too: she just wasn't cut out for it and wanted to art more than stream. Rushia and Mel were forced: no reason was needed. Aqua? Aqua doesn't make sense. What caused her to decide she wanted out? I don't buy that she is guaranteed to come back as an indie. I half expect to either never see her again, or hear that she became a pro FPS player or something.

The point I'm making is something don't smell right here.

iirc sana had a fucked up back as well, making the idol stuff difficult too.

can't remember the age of the onion, but if she really is a reformed hikki finally "living life" wouldn't be that uncommon, even without doing the same thing for the last 6 years which can feel stagnant or burn you out (especially when started early). that's with your perspective changing over time inevitably, you'll have a different outlook on life in your 20s/30s/40s.

or someone managed to mating press the onion and knocked her up

Yeah, the life of an idol is typically not sweet once they start hitting middle age and doing all those dances starts to slowly break down your body.

All that stuff eventually starts to hit you like a sack of bricks the moment you hit 30 and from there it's just a slow decline

I somehow doubt someone as cripplingly shy as Aqua has ever dated anyone. She'd be a complete dead fish lay anyway. God help any nip brave enough to try.

I agree with you mostly though. If Gura graduated I'd chalk it up to burnout/getting older. If Mumei graduated I'd chalk it up to her graduating college and going off to study whales or whatever. Hell, I could even see Bae deciding she actually wants to be seen dancing rather than mocap, though she did seem very happy and emotional over how well her shit went down at NYC that graduation probably is a long ways off. She was nerding out over the fact that the tech finally shows her popping and locking.

But I digress. All of this is speculation till the onion appears again. Like I said, if she never re-debuts I would not even remotely be surprised. For all we know the 6 years at Hololive netted her enough NEET bux to stay a Hikki for the rest of her life.
