My identity solidified around 13, same with the few friends I still keep in contact with that were also Marine brats. Granted, where my identity solidified, dependents has to go to middle and high school off base. I like to think I had a pretty solid upbringing, but I was nearly an adult when 9/11 happened. The people that had issues developing a complete identity all already had some underlying mental health issues. As a military brat, you learn to adjust to new friend groups, but not to completely change who you are.
