So Mercunte is taking up the Keffals Gambit by trying to fund a lawsuit off the farms that will go nowhere and the money will disappear. I'd claim to be shocked but given her incessant need for attention and the fact that she's gotten btfo'd by even the likes of Grummz of all people, this is her only play. I wonder which drug this one's going to spend $10k on. My bet is meth.

10 000 dollars. It will be on another abortions for sure.

I don't see it as "conceding" if her address is removed from here. I don't really see it as "winning" if it remains. Her personal contact details are pretty much immaterial bar some unusual circumstance like that Keffels affair where the dude said he was somewhere else and then showed up in Ireland or something. And posting the address does invite someone to go hassle her. It's the sort of thing that affects general perception of the site for that reason. Though many will with good reason say that the Farms reputation is black as can be, it's surprising how much good will the Farms gets in some quarters. It's garnered a reputation as a key place in being able to highlight trans concerns for example. Hell, the number of middle aged women on this site would probably shock most of its critics. Mumsnet has a giant thread on the Farms and how falsely maligned it is.

Posting unnecessary personal contact details is also, for those that care, major fuel for any grifting she does. It carries way more weight than a bunch of idiots just laughing at her tweets and YouTube, which is the usual practice.

Anyway, I've said my peace - I think there's no actual relevance to her address to the site, the Streisand Effect from her trying to get it taken down has kicked in and there's no reversing that whatever we do now. And keeping it does mildly increase the chance of someone doing something unpleasant to her which is not what the site is about. None of this is an argument about law or rights or what is allowed. Just about what might be most helpful.

But that's pretty much everything I wanted to say. I still don't even know who she is.

Alyssa is going to have problems if she doesn't stop picking on people.
Never heard of her, but if she wants to screw with the farms I will mutilate her...photo beyond all recognition using the full force of MS paint

sooo....THIS is my victim is it?

BEHOLD! gaze upon my hideous caricature and recoil in horror at the destructive power of my threats

I don't think people realize that finding a phone number or address is incredibly simple using public means. If you own something, there is a record of it somewhere. If you got a ticket, your info is public. If you register to vote, it's public. Own a business or act as a registered agent, depending how you register, public. Own a website, same thing. Arrested at an antifa rally and had a court date, public. Does that mean people should use that info and make your life hell, no. But 20 years ago, you could open a phone book and odds are, you'd be listed.

She has what she wants and that's what she chose. The Internet will not be responsible for what she gets herself into, and there is nothing new that hasn't been known before.

on the subject of the Dox argument, I feel it's more of a headache for the site these days then it's worth.
Doxes serve some purposes:
1. It's funny when someone brags about being rich and then it's discovered that they live in a crappy shack.
2. It's funny when someone lives in a crappy \ weird house.
3. It's impressive what people can dig up.
4. It's a valuable lesson in keeping private things to oneself and it's a lesson most Internet users, including many Kiwis, really need.
That being said, if doxes (like phone numbers and addresses) were to be banned to keep the forum afloat, I would probably get over it faster that I got over Melinda Scott being banned (which was another forum-saving move but still hurt).

The only person she needs to worry about finding her house is a drunken Jeff Grubb after too many lonely nights

The issue I have is that a chimpanzee can easily utilize basic search engine parameters and dig up where people live, hence why celebrities have to use alternative businesses and names to add some layered opsec. The thing about being a celebrity is that it's all about putting yourself out there to the public eye and you have to SELL your privacy to do that. It's part of the gambit. If you want to be a big Internet personality you gotta figure out better opsec like others have, or understand that people are going to dig into you ESPECIALLY if you're being as inciteful towards groups of people as she is.

When you call out and scorn entire racial, ethnic, and political groups you cannot be surprised when people take interest to you. Yes, some of those people may have extreme ideations. You don't get to magnify what could easily be classified as hateful rhetoric then, instead of utilizing proper opsec just expect EVERYBODY else to kowtow to your privacy, by your request. Kiwifarms is just ONE website, albeit growing in popularity. Even if you were to magically remove your dox from this website, for as long as you want to play Internet celebrity, what's stopping any other chimp behind a keyboard from piercing poor opsec and finding where you live? What's stopping someone with legitimate ill intentions from doing it? If you want to play eceleb and go out if your way to be inciteful to people, the onus should and will ultimately fall on you for your privacy. People need to figure that out if they want to be popular on the Internet.

One last note: I actually wouldn't mind seeing this person get what they're asking for and just fade into irrelevance. I don't want to see it, or its opinions. But, you wanna be a journalist? Fine. Kiwifarms gets to be journalists too. There are no rules for thee, but not for me.

Fake name, fake ID, never at places you know. It's fun, and even if they're not the kill you type crazy, they'll try to ruin your life other ways. Like I said earlier in the thread and this cuts both ways; live by the sword, die by the sword.

Fake name usually works. But it really is like playing with fire, extremely dangerous. But it can't be denied that it's at least a little bit fun and some excitement. It's the same level of fun and stupid as poking a sleeping bear with a stick.

it's all public information

This is the key. All "dox" are public information. KF just aggregates that public information into one place. That's it. Literally. Then people comment about the dox of the person, and typically make fun of them as a form of social commentary. Literally all of it is perfectly legal in the US. The day it is against the law to post information that is publicly available and laugh about it, that will be the day that free speech on the internet truly dies.

This is central to both KF's existence and its undoing. Weird and gross people use the internet to get attention and do or see degenerate things that would be hard to come by in a low-tech world, and they get very combative when the 'wrong' people become privy to them and they can't just press the delete button on it all.
