These people aren't serious - they just find something about slacktivism and suddenly "hey look, now we have fucking faggotry and sodomy too, now we're definitely gaining traction". This is Spic Fuentes-tier of faggotry too, of "nothing ever happens".... Reading these tweets genuinely pissed me off, I almost want to sperg and fish for tophats... but I won't.
What I will say is that I hate that I can kinda understand the mentality... but why? Just why? I thought the point of those PSA videos were to convince a normal person (like a parent or a single adult that feels nostalgic towards old cartoons) about how animation is important and how absolutely terrible the current industry is... how art of your characters being gay gonna help that? Are you tyring to grab the attention of the terminally online manchildren and tumblrina girls? They already know the industry is garbage. They don't need convincing. How are they gonna help your cause? That adults are also interested in cartoons made for children? Give me a break...
Anyway, here's a toss that I found somewhat relevant:

If someone wanted to try to do something, they should aspire to be professional, and be OUTSIDE the internet. If someone begins with campaigns on "here, have a funny maymay I did of your campaign", shut it down. Show you are serious. Not to be a buzzkill, but look at what fucking happens.
EDIT: In case I failed to convey a proper message - what I tried to say is... I used an example of a failure of a political movement to give what a potential movement of grassroots "save cartoons" one could have been. But it shows people are latching into it just to share their own fetishes, likings or "signal boost" to say they have done their part. Not to "put their own hand over the fire" so to speak.
