By all accounts he is a fantastic legal researcher and has a meticulous understanding of the law as written. But Kurt appears to have very little experience in or contact with the real world. Legal or social.

Joe is a shithead debt collector. His working knowledge of law is just enough to keep him and his on the razors edge of what is legally allowed in debt collections. Regardless of what is ethical. When people talk about hating lawyers, they are talking about lawyers like Joe. He further lives a very issolated life in a seclusionist religious community. Joe's body of knowledge and experience regarding these types of matters is probably less than the average KF'er.
