The “you’re watching a man out of control” stuck out to me. Nick always tries to suck up to Null in ways (eg I love the guy, he’s my friend, etc) them immediately insults him. I used to think some of that was Nick trying to seem unbothered and cope to himself. At least after it passed the point where Nick could reasonably expect Null to suddenly start sweeping. But it was just throwing shit at the wall and hoping something stick, he only ever says that stuff as a manipulation tactic. I've bought these exactly twice. There was a weird spike in egg prices a year or so ago and it was something like twice as much to get fresh eggs as to get these pre-boiled ones, and the pre-boiled ones are actually fine. It's sort of like buying pre-shelled pistachios, except unlike peeling boiled eggs (which is kind of tedious and annoying), shelling them is actually part of the fun of eating them.

Here's another fun thing with April and Aaron: Aaron would typically do the shopping when they were married, but April was not allowing Aaron to shop at Aldi or even Walmart. I don't remember what the boutique grocery chain equivalent is in St Cloud (IDK if Whole Foods goes out that far), but one of Aaron's big things was how much money he was saving by not having to shop there. Something like 300 bucks a month just by switching back to Aldi.

All I have to say is what a complete gold-digging slut. Those boutique chains charge you sometimes twice as much or even more for exactly the same shit that is on the shelf at Walmart or even Dollar General or even the even-shittier-than-DG white trash stores. You should save trips to Whole Foods specifically for things you can't get elsewhere. Even then Trader Joe's, if you have it, often has WF quality items for half the price.

Maybe Nick and April really are soulmates, two stupid fucks who think if you pay more for something, it makes you rich and you have taste on top of that. Wigger rich fucking fleabags.

Instead of calling him a retard or “malpractice machine” for not making any of the points Nick claims should have been made, he was mealy-mouthed and said he doesn’t necessarily have a problem with the lawyer not asserting what he should have.

That suggests to me that Nick is very aware how risky it is that Ape has a lawyer who isn’t him. He doesn’t want Gallagher telling Ape that Nick is a non-practicing lawyer with almost zero courtroom experience and should not be trusted for legal guidance. So he uses kid gloves and hopes Ape keeps her mouth shut (and filled with the cum of multiple men).

I think Rekieta was plenty critical of her lawyer. I don't think it was complimentary at all. In the past he hasn't been critical of his lawyers at all before only later using terms like "walking malpractice factory". Instead, with this guy, he was critical, but downplayed the significance of the things he was criticizing.

I agree with the people posting earlier that based on April's reaction she was convinced by Nick that she was getting a dismissal immediately. She went full scrimp mode as soon as it was denied for the time being.

Probably, Nick was far more negative in his take on her lawyer's performance to her afterwards than he was publicly.

Not true. Once you invoke the right, questioning isn't supposed to happen, at least if it's asserting the right to counsel (which Nick appears to be claiming).

This is why it's best practices to invoke BOTH the Fifth and Sixth Amendments simultaneously and explicitly. Under current Supreme Court case law, not explicitly invoking these rights waives them.

But if you do, questioning is supposed to cease IMMEDIATELY.

You're right that cops will indeed continue to needle you, but usually under some pretext that they aren't actually interrogating any more, because invoking the right doesn't mean they can't talk to you at all, for instance, asking if you want a cup of coffee, if you need to go to the bathroom, telling you to return to your cell, etc.

More than needling, though, effective cops trying to get around the invocation of these rights in a way that actually gets ADMISSABLE confessions are a lot more likely to butter up the suspect and try to establish rapport, while at the same time not actually asking about the crime. It's shocking how often just a little bit of feigned sympathy will suddenly turn on the faucet and have the suspect spilling his guts.

This reminded me to ask: what happened to "checking on Lady R" regular segments of his show? Did he totally stop doing them? When did he stop doing them? Did he ever do it after Aaron left?

"Checking on Lady Rackets" was just his pretext for doing a few lines of blow.

Where even IS the "open"? The house has a bedroom, a kitchen, a bathroom, but I've never seen an "open".
