I have been following Mr. Toe since 3/4 of the qover got arrested, in part because Aaron has been a great source of gossip and deets on all the insanity. I don't believe him 100%, but enough of what he said, and his insights into Nick's actions, have born out for me to find Aaron credible on this stuff. Yeah, he's an annoying "on-air" personality (and probably off-air too), and he's a Cumia skin-walker, yada yada. But having spent more than a few hours over the last 3 months watching Steel Toe Boring Show either live or through clips, here are my general thoughts:

1. Aaron seems to have broadcast the alleged crime. Whatever happens, he dug his own grave. That said... it's a lot of people's words being taken. The image was never shared on stream. Edit to add: Stream segments clipped here.
2. Aaron probably doesn't know (certainly at the time) that something like sharing a pic with one person was illegal.
3. The Qover waited a month and a half to have Qayla press charges. Per Aaron, they (Qayla, but likely at Nick's prodding) were trying to get Aaron to sign an NDA on the cover. When he continued to refuse, Nick changes gears and goes to the revenge porn route to punish Aaron. Edit to add and correct: Balldo's Gate corrects the info on the timeline here,. One can make one's own inferences on what was going on between Keanu and Geno that prompted this.
4. Nick Rekieta, noted champion of the libertarian ideals, goes to daddy state to handle his little spat, rather than filing a restraining order.
5. Qayla is a slatternly woman and a terrible mother. She either took the picture, or had Nick take it. She then sent it to Aaron, on Signal. It seems like Nick had messages set to expire after x days, from what Josh and Aaron have said about their Signal usage with Nick. But Nick's report that images were shared maybe shows they weren't timing out messages. Regardless, you can still save time-limited images (and maybe Aaron did). What a great example to make for your daughters.
6. I didn't read anything about a group message for this image! There were group messages with images, per Nick. Regardless, this was either a private message from Qayla to Aaron, or the equivalent of a 4-person group chat, super cereal secret for all their misdeeds.
7. Aaron seems to have disliked Signal and stopped using it once out of the Qover. Since April was able to see his message log, it's likely he MMS'd the message to Geno, and the probable cause says Aaron sent a text. (I don't know if Geno would be smart enough to figure out Signal.)
8. The picture in question doesn't seem to exist on anyone's device, outside possibly of Qayla's. Both Geno and Aaron seem to have deleted it, given Geno said he did and Aaron doesn't "remember" it.
9. The image may still be stored on the Telco's/Apple's/Google's servers. Depends on retention policies. Would the state subpoena one of / all of these to get the image?
10. The picture in question was never published to the general public. Even though discussed on stream, the discussion seemed mostly focused on the tattoos. There was
11. It looks like Aaron either took down the stream or privated it? (but..., 1:24:00 in) Funny how Aaron may be using the same playbook as Nick. I don't know when it was unlisted/taken down from youtube.
12. The discussion around when the alleged picture was sent, was entirely around tattoos. I don't see intent AS REVENGE, but Aaron sure enjoyed sending the pic. I'm watching the vid to try to find the explicit discussion, but the immediate discussion during the send seems to be in the abstract, rather than about Qayla specifically.
13. I don't see how Keanu involved herself in this, other than to be stupid slut defense force for April and the Qover, once they started talking again.
14. The Minnesota law looks bad. IANAL, but it's overly broad. Potentially showing a pic on your phone to one other person
15. Americans are too tied up about nudity. If there wasn't a suggestive or penetrative act, it's not porn. (Let's leave CSAM and just kids in general out of the discussion at present- not relevant in this case.) Yeah the name is different than what's described in the law, yada yada. A nude picture shouldn't be illegal.

ultimately regardless of the hot takes on revenge porn laws, everything happening now is the end result of the participant's actions and bad choices. Kayla and Rekieta would not be in this position if they had not degenerated into the swinger druggie lifestyle. Mostly because highschool girls and middle school girls started sexting and sending pics to boys at their school. Some boys would later share the photos and collect them in Facebook groups (this was like 2009-2013 when it became a huge issue). A lot of this was also considered CP and also used to harass girls, you had a few suicides because of this.
There were issues where girls would get drunk at parties and get taken advantage of too. This was a huge thing (Mattress girl is a big example).

I had a friend in Middle School (8th grade at graduation) go through hell because a girl sent him a picture rather than to her boyfriend and alleged an ex shared it with every boy in our class. Really fun experience when you get screamed at by teachers and a local activist that we were like the Duke Lacrosse Team when 90% of the class has flip phones so shitty that we couldn’t receive pictures.
