Phil bought a new wireless keyboard and mouse and a new gaming keyboard and mouse for what I assume would be both of his PCs, and he has all of the RGB software installed. I agree. Phil needs a small time streamer with little to no controversy and enough charisma to carry him through. Not only did he get that with Brian, the man actually wanted to help him, made fun of him lightly like a friend would do and tried to hold him accountable without jumping down his throat. These are the things actual friends are made of and I believe Brian would have become Phil's friend eventually. Phil's best case scenario is quietly becoming a boring lolcow but an entertaining streamer.

Instead, Phil hops on the coattails of whoever will toss him a crumb and defend him as long as they have a larger audience than him.

I was going to make a post the day before the Josh/Phil stream basically saying Phil isn't 'leaning into it', he's not 'playing along with the joke', he's not 'rolling with the punches', or 'hamming it up for the cameras'. He just really believes all this shit.

But after seeing that stream, the next several days of manic behavior, and finally the nail in the coffin where he is reading the responses to his Max tweet and ACK'ing about "LOL! No one cares about you. Everyone loves me now!" I believe Phil lives entirely inside of a completely constructed delusion.

Like, I had just been going to say something laughing about how he was really buying into his own delusions over this, but as always with Phil he somehow manages to be way worse than I even imagine.

It's part of the hermit lifestyle. For years, he's had nobody around to call him out on his shit. At least in real time. Anyone in chat tries? Banned. Then the rest of chat dogpiles on the banned person and agree with Phil and reinforces the delusion. Phil lives in a world where he's essentially a Mary Sue. He'll sometimes play off very minor things as flaws, but otherwise, he's perfect and can't make any mistakes. To the point where he can't even admit he accidentally spilled water and has to insist the water spilled itself or that an offline game is experiencing online lag.

I think originally all of this started off as Phil basically ranting and he didn't actually believe it, but there hit a point where he's been saying it for so long/never got any pushback from anyone else in his isolated lifestyle that he really started to buy into his own narrative. A better Philstorian could probably pinpoint a more exact period, but I think it really hit a peak towards the end of his Twitch days. Maybe as a result of Leanna, the last person who seemed willing to call him out, being gone from his life and replaced with Khet, who seems to just nod in agreement with whatever he's saying.

Speaking of Man On The Moon, Phil thinks that the Joon doc will show the world that's he's a Andy Kaufmanese character, everyone. That Phil "blurred" the lines of what's real and what's fantasy. Much like Andy! Phil wrestling Jerry Lawler, "breaking" his neck in the ring, being the Women's World Champion, blurring the lines, and confusing the hell out of people with tales, etc...Sure, Phil! You were REALLY just scratching your leg on May 1st and not having a self-love moment, but that was Leanna's fault that you did it, because you two were having issues, got it!
