I think it is understandable when you see the indiegogo page:I don't understand why he would make this as a comic book. You'd think if he really wanted to tell the story of the most influential comics, that he would just make this as a video series. Making that kind of project as a scripted documentary sort of thing would be a much more efficient way of getting this info across instead of needing to publish and draw an entire book.
First of all, he made it. May God have mercy on us all.
Secondly, the page is a bunch of comic book covers that Zack is still desperate to work on. I believe that Zack was, somehow, expecting his indie comics to be successful auditions to work on the mainstream comic books he liked. So far that goal is completely out of reach forever. We will never see Richard C. Meyers run on G. I. Joe, Batman or X-men. His weird pitch for Spawn where he seemed to think tossing out most of what Todd McFarlane created and coming up with a completely new character was a great idea will never be the official Spawn. He's not satisfied to come up with his own characters, comics and stories. This is his solution. Expect Comic Book: The Comic Book: Part 2 in the future.
