WhatifAltHist / Rudyard Lynch - History youtuber, galaxy brained, no credentials and no sex

He is "Curt Doolittle pilled" and pushing shitty debt scams
I know this is supposed to be a thread about ruddy, and honestly while I do think he makes and goes on extremely esoteric rabbit holes that just amounts to "420 KRATOM BLAZE IT CIA ELON MUSK DARK MAGIC ALCHEMY BROOO", he can make some good points. Curt on the other hand? He's a whole character in and of himself. He's basically the synthesis of a self-admitted spurg and schizo facebook boomer dad combined into one being. There's this one debate that I think brilliantly sums up Curt's whole shtick.
I present to you, the debate between LiquidZulu (scottish ancap) & curt doolittle:
from the get-go, curt begins to go on esoteric rants about property and blackmail and judge law and such. Liquidzulu, very properly, asks him what the fuck he means by judge law and whatever esoteric rant he is going on about. As the livestream moves on LiquidZulu is clearly getting more disgruntled, trying to take the pure logical value of what curt is saying. There's an especially funny clip at 56:22 where Zulu summarizes what Curt's whole speech was about, then curt respond with "well- I- uh, don't know what you mean". Then Zulu says, "well I spat your words back at you, if you don't know what it means then we're in pretty dire straits.". Which I think perfectly sums up a lot of what Curt's ideology is, its schizophrenia repackaged in fancy words. And then when pressed, he'll stumble and then repackage whatever acid he took that week into another irrelevant tirade.

Personally I think there's a 10% chance of a Civil War and I'm being Rockefeller levels of generous with that estimate.

Rudy has a good decade at least to get to Curtis' level of schizo-sperging.

I'm very excited for the election solely because I'm expecting a Whatifalthist meltdown when the Civil War doesn't happen.
I wouldn't get too excited about a meltdown because Rudyard has created an internal coping mechanism which makes everything he believes virtually unfalsifiable. There are really five scenarios which can occur within this framework that he's created for himself:

1) The civil war happens

This is fairly simple, if it happens then he can claim to have predicted it irregardless of whether the evidence he presented was true or not. For example, if he predicted there would be a civil war because of an increase in copper prices and a civil war happened, he would claim he predicted it despite his evidence not necessarily being actual evidence for it.

2) The civil war doesn't happen

a) Within this it can be spun in a few ways, the first being that it was a bet against God. He repeats often (an example shown below) that he's betting against God. It's subtle, but basically his argument is that he won't get the event/details completely right because there's a degree of probability involved, which generally absolves him from being wrong fundamentally because he seems to argue that he is wrong due to uncontrollably random probability rather than a methodological/evidence problem. I would personally say that it's likely he'll push back the date to around the next election cycle if it doesn't happen in November, citing how he was "betting against God".
betting against god.JPG

b) Now a second spin would be that he will claim that he doesn't actually believe it was going to happen anyways/changes his position, which he has done before. To give some examples of previous times he did this, there is first his dubious position on cyclical history theory. On "Talking To ‪@carefreewandering‬ About Socialism, Then ‪@WhatifAltHist‬ On Utopia Vs Dystopia" from the Sitch & Adam Show he claims that he is skeptical about cycles (~December 2023), but later in a tweet (~June 2024) he puts civilizational cycles in a list of things he describes as "completely irrefutable". So within 6 months he went from claiming that he was skeptical of something to saying that it was irrefutably true.

irrefutable truths.JPG

For further evidence, we can see his contradiction about computer models' predictive validity. I can't give an exact date for when he says this because this point is crucial to his entire argument for the civil war prediction and he says it all the time, but since at least September of 2023 he claims that computer models can be used to predict future events. Yet, later on "Hanging Out w/ Rudyard from WhatIfAltHist | 315b" from the Sitch & Adam Show, he directly states that computer models can't predict the future (~March 2024). If that wasn't a shameless flip flop enough, later on in "WARNING! The Next Civil War is Happening Now | Whatifalthist" By Matthew Cox | Inside True Crime he states that he's using a computer model to predict that there will be a civil war (~August 2024).

computer models.JPG

c) Another possibility is that he just ignores the fact he was wrong or any detail he was wrong about. To give an example, one is his prediction about the ongoing Russo-Ukrainian war. In a tweet from October of 2023, he claims that he predicted the invasion, but when you look at his video "What’s Going on in Ukraine?" from February of 2022 (right before the invasion happened) he claims that Ukraine would be conquered in a matter of weeks alongside how China and Russia are planning a joint invasion. Now obviously these didn't happen, and he knows that, but he conveniently left out that part of his prediction.

d) Finally, there's the option that he creates a delusional reality where his prediction happened by shifting goalposts. As an example, now over 3 years ago (~August 2021) he predicted in his video "We're Going to Have Another Great Depression." that within 2-3 years the entire world economy was going to collapse into a depression. This is one of his first major predictions where we've now reached the deadline, and it obviously didn't happen. Besides rarely ever mentioning why the whole world didn't collapse like he said, he did mention it once where he downplayed the whole thing and shifted goalposts. In it, he claims that the massive economic collapse did happen, but we just didn't notice it. He shifted the goalposts to try to make it seem like the quasi-recession conditions in 2022-2023 were the same as the world ending collapse he predicted years prior.

So TLDR, Rudyard having a meltdown over his prediction being wrong is unlikely because his predictions are basically unfalsifiable.

If the civil war happens, he predicted it. If it doesn't, he can claim that he was betting against God since he can't predict the exact time or conditions it will happen, that his position has changed/he didn't seriously believe it was going to happen, or he will ignore it like he never predicted it/shift goalposts by stretching his prediction to sound true. Personally, I think he's going to go with the first scenario if it doesn't happen, claiming that he can't predict the exact date due to how complicated it is and will shift his prediction to be until the next election.

With "War is Inevitable" being right next to Rudy's face in the thumbnail I can't help but think of the "Billions Must Die" chud meme.

So did the war on the internet ever even happen or did we just move onto another grand idea from General Lynch?
From the looks of it, no. Guess the people looked at him and went "What's wrong with you?"

Interesting coping mechanism

How has no one covered this piece of shit, where Rudy completely misreads his viewerbase by making hideous overgeneralizations and forgetting that they're all older than him?

This kinda made me mad, actually. I made many comments that were buried by the algorithm, such that even I cannot see them anymore. The two points he made that baffled me the most were the following:

  • That his viewerbase was radicalized by Andrew Tate (it wasn't, the viewerbase is way too old for Andrew Tate to be the first, Rudyard's projecting)
  • That his viewerbase has the average American debt load of $104,125, despite THE SCREENSHOT HE USES AS A SOURCE saying that the average is dragged up by 40-year-olds buying their first giant house, while he says that his viewerbase's average age is only a few years older than him.
EDIT: Oh yeah, and he assumes that the most representative viewer of his is a porn-addicted SIMP from an LA suburb, who is fat due to fast food being cheaper than weed, and who (quite suspiciously) has panic attacks that resemble Rudyard's PTSD.

1) From 2014 there is conflict in Ukraine. Everyone who knew even basics about region predicted that this would happen sooner or later.
2) Wtf is he talking about. China was united under leadership of Mao in late 1940s and technically they are still at war with Taiwan, because Taiwan is where remnants of rival chinese goverment fled.
3)-
4)Far Right = any anti establishment party /candidate there has been "far Right hysteria" since atleast mid 2010s
5)Coups in Africa must be day of the week ending with Y
6+7) conflict in Middle East? See above
8) Social Justice movement was full of Lunatics trapped inside purity spiral long before 2020.
9)Even back in 2020 many knew coof lockdowns would destroy economy.

That video was hilarious because much of it was extremely oddly specific situations I can confirm from his videos that Rudyard personally has experienced, alongside him constantly elaborating about himself if a part of the psychoanalytic projection of his average viewer he created didn't apply to him. It's insane that somehow every video he makes end up actually being about himself.

I would honestly be insulted if I were a fan of his and Rudyard said he thought I was a fat drug addicted dead-end loser incel who is resentful about being a failure in school. (Compared to him, a self-described wealthy handsome extremely-not-autistic 6'4 6-figures-earning entrepreneur geopolitical consultant historian anthropologist guru CEO who drives an Audi and definitely is not an incel)

You know you're retarded when you get felted by a fucking AnCap. I'd just neck at that point, you were outsmarted by the lol-est of lolberts.

I might make up a drinking game based on Rudy's postings. Any suggestions?

What a weird video. He says all this awful stuff about his fanbase that he really has no way to prove any of it. He makes no real points in the video either it's just him insulting the viewers for no reason. What was he even trying to accomplish with this? Also ends the video with another cry for the civil war he wants.

To be sure, Whatifalthist is basically a doomsday grifter, but he's an intriguing one. Anyway, he just landed an interview with Tom Bilyeu, maybe his biggest exposure yet.
As a follow-up, Chris Williamson had him on too.

He is all about the blackpill, so I guess this is just part of the marketing. Despair porn is a big part of his stock in trade, considering he makes a lot of blackpill althis predictions as you can see below:

complete with convenient outs so he can just keep going.

Whatifalthist is just a HOI4 ideas guy YouTube channel with a big emphasis on far-right counterrevolution against The Man, only now he's an The Inoffensive Melting Pot Genderblob.

Honestly, it's sad to see his video attempts at not being completely blackpilled lose popularity. He used to get a lot of views in for saying "It's bad now, but it'll be better later".

What drove off most of the people who watched those videos? His laziness? His craziness? The algorithm?

Already 50 seconds in and this nigger thinks he invented perennialism (Studies in Ancient Wisdom, lol). This is dunning-krueger in action. How is Rudy taken this seriously when he hasn't upgraded his mic or production value in a decade?

A few pages ago he wondered what the field was for understanding what people felt was and thought he invented a field just for that. He's very much up his own ass when it comes to various fields of study.

I stopped watching him because his alternate history videos were mostly kinda mid, especially when you had people like AlternateHistoryHub pretty much dominate the genre on YouTube. Thus forcing Rudy to go into more of a "Geopolitics" channel.

He's projecting onto his audience because in his mind since they watch his videos, they must be exactly like him no matter how logically inconsistent that sounds.

He did, and I liked those better. My guess would be that he started personally getting more and more blackpilled. Since the algorithm agreed and he was already committed to living off youtube and consulting gigs, he took the blackpill and ran with it.

This isn't all a conscious decision tho imo since Rudyard thinks a lot about geopolitics anyway. With the high-level prognosis for geopolitical tensions getting worse (lol Thucydides trap), I can't help but feel that his outlook has been negatively affected by his work. KaiserBauch the demographer has been a lot better in this regard so far.

How do you assume nobody has asked the questions you're asking ever before? Lmao.

Anyway, going out into grassy fields helps for understanding lots of things. Touchgrassology is a criminally underrated field.

The reason why rudyard got so blackpiled in the first place is because he is so online. If rudyard focused on lifting and running for a while he could meet a nice girl at gym/church and get married. Instead rudyard went off on the deep end doing schizo rants while taking drugs. I like rudyard personally so its upsetting to see him mess up his life.

I'm not so sure that the reason he's so blackpilled is due to the internet alone. From "Hanging Out w/ Rudyard from WhatIfAltHist | 315b" from the Sitch & Adam Show, he claimed that he knew the whole world was going to collapse when he was 16, which is years before the content on his channel changed or he showed signs of such a negative outlook on other media platforms like twitter.

From the clip above, it seems like he already wanted the world system to collapse and merely was looking for evidence to prove afterwards what he already believed. This fits a lot more with what I've detailed a lot about in previous posts, that Rudyard has a huge ego (either developed after the success of his youtube channel or already pre-existing) that was damaged by the fact he's a below average IQ autist who thinks himself to be some kind of brilliant, successful scholar/entrepreneur that was kept down in life/school because of an evil bureaucratic managerial leftist system which encompasses every institution in society.

I don't hate the guy, but he is very hard to like given that his ego is the size of a blimp and will very likely lead to him crashing and burning like the Hindenburg at some point years from now.
