There's a free master archive of all British newspapers published in the last 150+ years, including the Doncaster Free Press (which only came about 100 years ago.) I looked for David Alter Walter Doncaster and only found adverts for David's Alters, a Master Tailor shop in Doncaster. No news articles in the British press archived since the 1800s have mentioned that name or a book about girls that I could find. They don't usually publish the names of people in the British press for privacy reasons, so that makes sense, but you'd think there'd be something archived. It's a particularly salacious story, maybe if the person remembered the year the article came down, and general season, it could be combed through better. And don't look up Nonce and Doncaster, lol; you'll only get results for horses.

I'm starting to think that focusing on Facebook might be the best approach to us learning more here. Zoomoids from Reddit are much less likely to go on Facebook to talk to random boomers about this, so maybe lurking a few of the Doncaster and London 90's nostalgia groups could be a good move going forward? People often share local town memories and stuff in those places, and surely someone must have said something over the last 10 years or so.

Not an official one sadly. Its more like a registry that is made by volunteers. They make it by combing through news stories so if a case didn't make the news or if they can't find any find any articles in the way back machine then they don't feature the person. I've tried search Yorkshire and London on the volunteer one before realising he wasn't on it.

There's Sarah Law which compels the police to inform you if someone has a history of sexual offenses. This law only works if you are a parent, guardian or carer of a child and you want to vet someone around your child.

Trust me. You aren't the first person to think of checking the UK sex offender registry
