Concord - robots with pronouns

Three of the best games of this year are Robocop, Stellar Blade and Wukong. All single player action/rpgs.
One received absolutely zero hype (or at least none that have heard of)
Another, woke nepo babies made a stink about because muh conventionally hot MC.
The last one, woke nepo babies made a stink about because of no minority representation... in a game that is set in Ancient China.

Lesson is, don't buy into hype and don't listen to woketards ever.

Robocop came from a AA studio that made like one mostly solid Terminator game that was basically the samish as the Robocop game...but the gameplay style fits Robocop so intently that it was unironically a perfect match.

It's been a decade of this and i still don't understand the rationale behind making slop like this. Do the bigwigs at these gaming conglomerates genuinely think pronoun blobs make up the majority of people who play video games? are the guys at the top just incompetent old fools being led astray by ideologues hired for PR reasons or what not? or do they just not care because they get money back from Blackrock etc? It's so odd, i mean anyone with a brain working there would look at this slop getting churned out and say "Hey, we can make a much better game for half the price and it also won't alienate most of the people who actually purchase and play video games".
One overlooked factor is the Chinese encouraging and paying for this in order to take over the competition

Game looks like shit. Good. Terrible ideological slop.

But I cannot for the life of me understand the business move here. It was an up front purchase? Did someone figure that running the servers would cost more as sales were made? Wouldn't a better move be keep it on the store trickling in some sales and toss out a dedicated server binary? Anything? So many other games stay on life support trickling in sales here or there. There has got to be more to the story.

Like a suit had an axe to grind or a message to send.

There's a push by euros to pass a law preventing companies from shutting down games people purchased. Probably a risk assessment meeting or something where they looked at 10 years of server costs compared to their 25k sales and decided the write off value was more than potential skin sales

The woke of overwatch doesn't affect the characters' base appearance and it doesn't affect the game. Looking at fugly sjw designs affects the base appearance of the characters and is forcing me to actively suck sjw dick every second i play it. no one cares about the pronouns when they're playing the game.
The characters in Overwatch aren’t ugly per-se, and for the comers out there, it’s absolute coomer bait. Deadlock seems to be taking that same approach. Concord doesn’t have that same feel.

Remember Overstrike? The Insomniac Games game that was turned into Fuse, and EA changed the art style to make it yet another “gritty” realistic shooter? That’s what Concord feels like but with pronouns and gender SJWisms, and that’s just not appealing to me, and clearly most other folks.

How much do ya wanna bet they try to re-release and remove all the "woke" shit to try and recuperate some of their investment?
They'll definitely re-release it, but as a F2P title with a battle pass and other in-game purchases IMO.

I never played it, but I watched a couple of reviews and it looked alright game-play wise, so it has potential. It got stuck in a chicken/egg situation, where they needed to sell more copies to increase the terrible player base numbers, but the terrible player base numbers meant that people weren't gonna buy it. Making it F2P at least gets rid of the biggest barrier to getting people to download and play the game, and Sony are doing well with PS5 sales so there's loads of potential players out there.

If they respond to some of the other negative feedback, maybe the game could see some success, but the market is pretty saturated. People who like games like this are already playing one or more of its competitors. I don't see the woke shit being a huge factor tbh.

And I really cannot understand why people bring up Overwatch if Concord called woke. Not only latter has 1(one) white dude (most plane guy in existence), while former had McCree and 76 and Rein and Junk and Roadhog, every girl were sexy in some way.

Not to mention Blizzard was smart enough not sell it on wokeness. They trickled that shit in through comics and post release content... and as they did the game's population was declining (attributable or not).

I would love to see the massive amount of ass spewing rage from RetardEra if they did that. It would dwarf todays serving of salt.
Swallowing a $199M+ loss isn't something that can really fly in the era of interest rates.

The swift removal of this failure seems like a pretty clear signal to calm shareholders.
But i thought it was pointless because Larry Fink can turn this win in to a loss for us chuds with a phone call and his infinite money glitch that is ESG? Why would they back down and remove their propaganda? Could it be we have been overestimating how savvy they are? And they are really just a bunch of incompetent boobs who bank on you bigging them up as evil string pulling super villains?
Why did Fink-Sama not save them?

Why would they? xbawks is doing like shit and switch sales are going down as the hardware is too old. Unless SEGA comes back from the dead with the Dreamcast 2 Sony has no motivation to change.
Switch sales for the year are only 300k behind ps5. The switch is currently in it's 8th year, everyone thought it was being taken out behind the shed two years ago, and its successor is known to be right around the corner. Meanwhile, the ps5 is in its 4th year, which is historically when a console's sales peak, and it's barely keeping ahead of a nearly decade old underpowered portable, an underpowered portable that's already reached a vastly higher market saturation. What do you think happens when ps5 enters year 5+, historically decline years for a console, and is now competing against the switch 2/whatever nintendo calls it?

This game launched on the 23rd. It only lasted 11 days before it announced it was shutting down. People used to make fun of SWTOR back in the day for not being able to be as popular as WoW was, and wasting just as much money if accounting for inflation, but at least it's still running today in maintenance mode.

My god I wonder how many games they could have invested in with this money. Bloodborne on PC. A Days Gone sequel. Crash 5.

I wonder how much money was pocketed by the developers of this piece of trash?

None. It will be a tax writeoff and never spoken of again.
