On the origin story tip, I don't think people become conservative. I think people discover that they always have been. Conservatism is just risk aversion. People's tolerance to risk goes up and down with time and circumstances, but you know how you feel when you gamble and lose. If it hurts a lot, you're conservative at heart. If you shake off the loss and keep gambling, you're probably liberal.

I have a strict gambling budget limit, and if they had a Galaga cabinet instead of a quarter push machine next to my job I'd probably piss away a similar amount of money into it.

These people are not liberals. Wikipedia defines liberalism as "a political and moral philosophy based on the rights of the individual, liberty, consent of the governed, political equality, right to private property and equality before the law.". These people say their liberals and try to convince fence sitters they are. But in reality, they're progressives. They seek to further progress humanity for progress' sake. Not for anything else. They're marxists. They want to advance society to reach the end of history where man and god become one. Or man becomes god.

Speaking of Obama making school lunches shit, he did the exact same for the military. The military gets a bad rap for food, but if you're on a major base on US soil, the chow hall food is generally acceptable. The food only really sucked on deployment or in the field.

Obama changed the military food contract and the quality of food on base dropped to prison levels. They even changed their menus and totally eliminated taco Tuesdays which was a comically huge deal when it came to troop morale. He had to have been getting kickbacks from Sodexo or whatever shitty contractor he cut all the deals with.

President Joe Biden is “mourning the deaths” of those who were killed in Wednesday’s school shooting at Apalachee High School and said that “we cannot continue to accept this as normal.”

“What should have been a joyous back-to-school season in Winder, Georgia, has now turned into another horrific reminder of how gun violence continues to tear our communities apart. Students across the country are learning how to duck and cover instead of how to read and write. We cannot continue to accept this as normal,” the president said in a statement.

At least four people were killed in a shooting, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.

Biden also used his statement to call on Congress to act and pass an assault weapons ban, as he has in the past.

“After decades of inaction, Republicans in Congress must finally say ‘enough is enough’ and work with Democrats to pass common-sense gun safety legislation,” the president added.
