I respectfully disagree because it got some people, myself included, investigating quickly in the race against feds to DFE. The informative posts, most notably Larry David's(who also did the excellent Facebook sleuthing on the Loudon County Schools Troon Rapist's grandmother, which led to the confirmation of the name & his mom being a glowie) rise to the top via Highlights. I didn't find anything myself in this happening, but made some attempts in channels I don't normally(I favor Facebook as well). Other people bantering, shitposting, arguing, where else on the site, or the internet at large are they supposed to do it? Half the reason feds ask platforms to remove profiles is so the public doesn't go to Instgram and immediately shit it up with 10,000+ "Die kid, should've just done it to yourself, why didn't you go after ____ on the school board instead, useless fuck" type posts.
People should have a place to banter and shitpost about the event. It's healthy for them to express them complex feelings about it, even if that manifests as annoying retardation within the rules. If it became relevant to do so, staffers could go in and separate the wheat from chaff, have a pure dox thread and a banter/keeping up with unfolding events thread, but the best threads are really just one good OP edit after the fact with unfiltered conversation within site rules after. Stonetoss is a good example, where the first 80 pages are people arguing about wether or not Stonetoss is or isn't a lolcow, and Josh comes in late to declare "the fact that there's 80 pages of this retardation is proof there should be a thread about Stonetoss."
Featuring a thread does have negative consequences, but I think the pros outweigh the cons here and the site/community isn't in measurable decline. Look forward to Josh's refinement of who can & can't post in future Features, and effortpost yourself. Personally I like the streamlined dox PM chains so I know what kind of experience you're wishing for, but you have to contribute to get into those so be the change you want to see in the site if you want the Platinum Kiwi Experience.

I'm a little disappointed in the kiwi turnout in this thread. I'm a huge thread tourist myself but I try to mind my manners as best as I can and not get into retarded slapfights over irrelevant garbage within the thread.
That being said, the kid was doomed to fail from the start thanks to the shitty environment he was raised in, but he's old enough to realize what he's doing is wrong. Apparently nobody stepped in and reprimanded him properly for his prior threat. Kids say stupid shit all the time, yeah, but adults have the responsibility to explain why they shouldn't say or do shit.
Not to PL but a friend of mine had a kid that made threats and lied to the school about having access to weapons. He was in the same age group as this kid. But the people in his life intervened rather quickly, made sure he had access to whatever support he needed, and they got to the root of the issues that led him to act out.
Early intervention is key, but that didn't seem to be the case for Colt. All the people around him seem just as bad and as attention seeking. They're all shitty people. The school was no help, CPS fumbled, everyone fucked up and they should all consider a bath with their toasters.

I don't know, but the autistic boy was found dead in the schoolyard. I'm thinking that he was shot, and walked out of the building not realizing he was seriously injured, and bled to death. Of course, the autopsy will tell us more.
All of the injured people are expected to recover, last I heard.
It also sounds like the shooter's family makes the Crumbleys from Michigan look sane and well-adjusted.

I’m no expert but don’t you think this happens a little too regularly that it becomes almost convenient that the FBI have had contact with these shooters? The fact that there was no invention at the first instance of the fbi getting involved is just negligent and facilitating these events to happen at this point.
The aunt on faceboook said the kid’s mom threatened the grandma that she would kill the kid, herself and her husband. The aunt posts shit like that publicly like it’s a regular Wednesday, which should be an indicator especially to an agency that has ‘investigation’ in its name. Excusing all the mentions of meth too, If that isn’t a bad environment then what is?

At the very least CPS should've been all over their asses for the threats made by the kid + history of parental drug use and history of violent episodes from the parents. Absolutely bonkers they just let this one go.
Then again they don't want older druggie kids for trafficking purposes....I mean put in the foster care system. Georgia is notoriously bad for taking kids that have no reason to be in foster care and ignoring obvious cases of abuse and neglect.

Riiiiiiiiiight, nothing at all weird about how the FBI always seems to know about every single shooter and other assorted crooks like the Nashville bomber, but somehow never seems to actually stop any of them. It's always "the shooter was known to the FBI" and never "the FBI stopped a shooting" (except when they've blatantly groomed some dumb sperg). It's almost like this organization we give insane amounts of money, credibility, and authority to is actually an agency of fuckups that can only deal with crimes they've created. So either the FBI is lying, or they're utterly inept.
