God damn, that "When did you become conservative?" question really brought out some fantastic posts. It's been a good few days for this thread.

Edit: Thanks to @Egg McMuffin
Especially because a lot of the answers were "I read the newspaper" "I observed dems were liars" "I used my brain"

If it was a glowop to figure out "extremist pipelines" I'm afraid there's not much they can do to prevent it.

A family friend of mine. As stated they're largely libertarian, don't dislike trump, think kamala is retarded, but it's this one issue they have the worst opinions on (or at least overblown hatred). Someome upthread criticized the cybertruck and if they did it like that I wouldn't really think much about it. But as described their criticisms seem to be stemming from hating elon instead of disliking the actual thing.

Every single thing elon does is "bad" or "wrong" and if I point out the good aspects of it it's shrugged off. If I point out at least it's some billionaire spending his own money on mars dreams it's still "stupid and childish". Even if we get updates on renewable rockets because of it. Maybe it's just that I'm optimistic and I see the good in things (like tech advancements, or more leniency towards freedom of speech on twitter) even if there's some silly or stupid shit that comes with it.

Anyway, they're not a tranny and when the topic has come up said they think trannies are fetishists. It makes me wonder if they haven't really looked into elon or thought about it and are just getting this opinion from somewhere in their friend group. Or they just have a weird hateboner for elon.

Edit: Or I'M the retard and am overly optimistic/apathetic about how billionaires spend their money on pet projects so long as it doesn't impact me or my food.
I think most of EDS is an extension of TDS. They only hate Elon Musk because they think he helped Trump. On the other hand, there was an EDS even before the Twitter thing and it’s a bit odd. Even Null has it. I wonder if it’s a form of jealousy. Many of these people are on sites like Hacker News. They are usually some kind of aspiring engineer or programmer. They see Musk as a buffoon who doesn’t take his work seriously. When you point out all the accomplishments they talk about things like luck, venture capital, and meeting the right people. Well what the hell do you think business is?

It’s the age old wageslave engineers who do design or QA or whatever for ten years and maybe get to $150k while the smart people move on (whether it’s sales, management, or starting their own companies) and get to rake in millions while playing golf and answering emails. They’re supposedly great at math, but can’t understand the concept of risk-reward.

I've always wondered how the fuck that guy is so.. for lack of a better word, powerful? The circles that fuck moves in are the tippy top
He founded the Oxford University L'Chaim society as a Chabad emissionary. It became the second largest student society at Oxford after he decided to move away from Judaism and turned it into a glorified debate club. Through this, he met with a lot of important people and built connections with them. Apparently he used to be a great debater.

No one religious takes him very seriously but he was considered the rabbi of major celebrities and America's rabbi.

The guy has made statements like "the 11th commandments is 'Thou Shalt Do Anything For Publicity and Recognition'"

Essentially, right place, right time, right kind of person, and right audience.

Overblown fear message from someone who hasn’t taken a basic economics course. Summer’s over. It’s normal for jobs to drop at this time. We are still in a better economy than what we had during the entire Trump presidency (even pre-COVID). My stocks have never been higher. If your stocks are down it’s because you’re a terrible investor. I know who I’m voting for. You might want to rethink who you are.
Did your basic economics course go over the fact that the only people who care about the stock market are people who can afford to invest and aren’t living paycheck to paycheck?
Because let me tell you, shit’s rough out there these days. Especially if you are of the age to start breaking into the job market or work while getting an education, it’s a bad scene. Most people are worried about the price of food, things becoming more dangerous, drug addicts running amok, and if you can afford an emergency expense.
I know who I’m voting for, because my life was a lot better and more comfortable under Trumpler.

Made a bingo card for the upcoming debate with some other people

What's the over-under on Kamala forcing the phrase "I'm speaking" even though the rules for this debate mute Trump's mic so he cannot talk over her?
I'm sure they've got a whole warehouse of merch with that catchphrase they have to hawk somehow.

This won't happen because breadtubers are a government asset
I also assumed that at first, but than I read the most recent book in Lindsay Ellis' trash scifi trilogy ....tldr, the main character is an accelerationist, paraphrases Timothy Mcveigh, & than plans a day of the rope in order to rid the American federal government from evil militarists puppets *checks notes* who are being controlled by David Icke underground reptilian baby eating space Jews - who are apparently the true cause of all world conflicts for the past few centuries??? 😵‍💫 (like, literally, that is all actual plot details written & featured in her sh!t scifi book that was inexplicably published).

...upon further thought, I stand corrected. Breadtube being a glowie psy-op checks out. Glowies nowadays are always trying to trick MAGA into participating in anti-government uprisings (like the FBI informants who tried to lure a group of MAGAs into kidnapping a governor a few years back).

To be honest I don't particularly like Elon and kind of disliked him after he threw a hissy fit because someone else rescued those kids in Thailand a few years back. Twitter seems to run worse, at least the posts are a mess if you're not logged in. That said there's certainly some Elon Derangement Syndrome going on and I hope he gets to slash government workers. Remove globohomo from institutions, ensure that once Trump leaves office they will have no powerbase.

9th Circuit ruled that California's law demanding that "social media companies to submit to the State a semiannual report detailing whether and how they define six categories of content: hate speech or racism, extremism or radicalization, disinformation or misinformation, harassment, foreign political interference, and controlled substance distribution" as well as their "content-moderation policies and practices" held that X was "likely to succeed on the merits of its claim that the Content Category Report provisions facially violate the First Amendment."

Pretty sure that’s why they wanted hot mikes. But i’m sure she has some catchphrase to bumble in to her speech poorly

The deep state threatens to crash the economy if Trump wins, and the man responds by promising to enact corporate ragnarok. Got to love the man. He ain't afraid to trade nukes when needed.
The telling thing, anyone can act like they have a big set of balls, Trump actually does, and will most likely follow through.

I like how Kamala's debate strategy is trying to copy's trump with bidens, but I think Trump will handle her.
The ironic thing is the thing to prepare for Trump would be to maximize her interaction with hostile elements, so she can dynamically react to gotchas, objections, attacks on her character / record / admin, etc etc. I.e., the exact opposite of what she's actually doing to prepare. Her stump speeches are literally the same canned speeches she's used for years, nothing has changed and the few times she's gone off script it's been an embarrassing disaster, even worse when she's stayed on script.

It's clown world and who knows what happens next week, but I'm guessing she word salads at every response. She has to both try and take credit for the good parts of the Biden admin (even if those only exist in her mind) while playing hot potato with everything else. Trump will likely point out that she's not answered a question, or suggest that she's weak in some memetic way -- "Does she expect to just demand to speak to Putin's manager if negotiations go wrong or something?" or point out that she's had 4 years to do something, anything, and hasn't -- "Sleepy Joe's been incapacitated for years Kamala, and it's your responsibility as VP to step in if he can't do the job. So where have you been the past few years, Kamala? Everything's gone to shit. We can't blame Joe, his own prosecutor even says he's too far gone to even face trial. That means you've been in charge, Kamala..."

He just has to get one good linguistic kill shot in on her and it's over. She has to both not let him do that, while also getting some in on him, while taking credit for as many good things the Biden admin has done, while avoiding the blame for the Biden/Harris admin, while making promises for the future, while convincing people Trump's promises for the future are lies / won't happen / etc.

... God, no wonder she drinks.

Why do all tech companies decide to incorporate in one of the most retarded states in the union? I'm glad X was found likely to succeed on a 1A appeal, but ideally they should have operated in a state that never would have passed a law like this.

But if Twitter takes the hit doesn't it set a precedent that california can't do it again to some smaller or more cucked company who would just bend over and take the reaming even if nonconstitutional if it were appealed? So twitter contesting it means it might not be able to apply to anyone, and if any other states do it, it could be overturned.
Unless I'm stupid and that's not how it works.

It doesn’t matter where it’s incorporated (X is incorporated in Delaware). California law applies to all business done in California. If Null were to sell some hosting space to a California company or hire someone who lives in California, he would be subject to California’s laws as well.

It’s why much of California’s business laws should be struck down because of the commerce clause. Why they haven’t been is a mystery to me.
