This is getting into a side topic, but they went into Russia because there's a war going on with them and Russia had been firing weapons from within its country while the US was demanding for quite a while that Ukraine not fire back. That gets retarded after a while and going into Russia caused regular conscripts, rather than primarily mercenaries, to be affected which possibly helps turn public opinion in Russia against its war.

It's still defending themselves, but isn't respecting Russia's border as an impenetrable force field the way Biden had wanted.

basically everyone accepts that the Russian government has an agenda in how they portray the war but then we are supposed to just believe the American media and government which are the biggest liers of them all along with Ukraine which was once considered the most corrupt country in Europe to all be telling the truth on how the war is going and where your dollar shekels are being spent because.... This is especially amusing considering the DoJ has been caught multiple times in the last few years lying and threatening platforms into censoring people. I guess only certain regimes can exploit the exchange of ideas and of course the investigation is ongoing so they can just keep dragging this out indefinitely while targeting anyone who is opposition and simply refuse to answer any questions about it.

I pay little attention to any of the TENET lineup so whatever but it is laughable that they are once again ignoring bad actors over there while attacking bad actors over here.

TBH ironically this news makes me respect Tim Pool a bit more only because I now have less issue with some of his dumb wrong predictions because now there is the potential where they weren't even his opinions like when he was saying that Trump would win all 50 states. That was so far out of base that any American should have know better. That's like an actual moment where there is just straight disconnect where it now makes sense to be Tim repeating the opinions of what outsiders thinks of American politics. Yes California has its conservative parts and "silent majority" and all that, but there are hereditary reasons with the population of the state that will always cause it to turn blue (like being home to the largest most liberal universities (among other things). Only someone uniformed about American affairs would think California (or fucking Hawaii) would flip red.

Its either that, OR Tim had his head so far up his own echo chamber that those were his own words and that would legitimately be dumber

After a day to take this all in, I'm of two minds on this.

On the one hand, I think it's pretty clear that all of this is an actual legitimate case of Russian propaganda being peddled , and however you may feel about the almost 10 years of kvetching about Russia and Putler, or if any of these talking points even ring true to you, t's pretty hard to deny the facts of the case the DOJ has laid out here. Whether or not they were witting co-conspirators is still a little bit ambiguous, but legally, they might be on the hook for at the very least for not doing their due diligence on the source of their funding.

But I also get people ITT's frustration about a moral double standard being enforced when it comes to foreign influence being prosecuted in the court of public opinion. Yes China, expands their influence through means that are technically legal like winning bidding wars for infrastructure contracts. Yes, obviously Israel exercises an undue amount of power by legally bribing pretty much every major elected official with campaign contributions. Etc. Etc.

But that's the problem, while those things are, in my opinion, immoral, they aren't illegal. So while I think a lot of us have a right to be upset about these people getting raked over the coals for something that happens a million times a day, it's generally done through legitimate channels that there's really no legal remedy to. The answer to those other two problems are probably something that can only be worked out "In Minecraft", so while I get the frustration, you kind of have to take the L on this one unless you're individually willing to do something more drastic.
