"Mad at the Internet" - a/k/a My Psychotherapy Sessions

Idk if this is MATI worthy but it made me laugh. This woman was gifted a croissant-shaped lamp by her sister and one day she noticed ants all over it and realized it's actually a real croissant that is just covered in resin that they put an LED light in.

And if you're wondering, yes this is a real product made in Japan.

$100 dollars for a croissant with an LED light inside. They also sell other bread.

I really respect this level of grift.

Can't wait for the reviews. "It was beautiful and looked exactly as advertized, but then fell apart after 3 days and became stinky". A fool and his money are soon parted! :story:
Snake oil never disappeared, it evolved. Transformed by hundreds of years of evolution into a etzy tier arts and craft piece people pay hundreds for. It's cheating at life. But my gosh I wish I was in on it.

This isn't the first time I've seen this done. Anyone with common sense knows that even with a resin coating, that shit doesn't work. To keep bugs out, you'd need enough resin coating to completely obscure the shape of the pastry. Even if you did that, it's still food inside and it's not sterile, so it's going to rot from the inside. Then there's the question of how they handled the punctures necessary for the cord. Was the pastry already on the cord with the bulb inside before it was coated in resin? Probably not. Has a dumber fucking question ever needed to be asked? Probably not.

Hey @Null, this might be something of interest for the trans section of the show tomorrow.
Netflix is releasing a documentary film about Will Ferrell and a writer from SNL road triping across America coping with his best friend (SNL writer) who recently transition.
Trailer came out today, and reception to the trailer is as you expect. I love the part where Will gets feisty with some random dude at the bar misgendering his best friend. releases September 27th.
