Can someone explain this mentality to me. I just don't understand someone going "Yes, I'm going to vote X because of this single event" only to a couple weeks/month later to suddenly change their mind "Nah, my enthusiasm has worn off. I don't think I'm going to vote for them anymore.
It's response bias. Basilicly when Biden dropped, there was a surge in enthusiasm as to the average normie dem. Kamla was a bit of an unknown and better than Biden, so people were hopeful that she would be their ticket to victory and, as such, were more willing to talk about her publicly, leading to over-representation in the polls. In truth, she got a bump, but that bump we saw was never as big as it was represented in the polls and this fact was prevalent early on. Also, the current decline is due to exposure to Kamala, as every time she speaks, she loses support, so you're also seeing that effect taking hold in the polls. In short, the term honeymoon was coined because the people who remembered how Kamala performed in 2020 knew that what is happening now was inevitable and that the bump she got was largely due to response bias and never actually existed.

Call it what it is: Trump is the new religious Satan for leftists.

I legitimately am bemused "enlightened" leftists cant even see how they're spouting "trump bad, republikkkans bad" just like their boogeyman of christcucks of old. Especially if you're a non-American repeating the same talking point word for word despite not even living in the country.
Being a leftist in the current year means accepting all kinds of absurd dogmas that can change from day to day. The faithful are told to pivot their views on a dime depending on what's convenient. Casting Trump as the source of all evil helps them by creating a fixed moral point that they can use to anchor their belief system.

This has been done on a wider scale in Western societies with Hitler after WWII, enshrining him as the villain whose deeds we must never repeat. This goes against the historic pattern in most cultures, where the mythos is focused on a legendary hero(es) who people strive to emulate. Heroes are short-lived in the modern West because they create fixed moral points that may impede the goal of perpetual revolution. For example people saying that MLK was a wimp preaching colorblind ideology that was implicitly white supremacist. The villains of modern culture have a much stronger, more enduring presence than the heroes and thus they're the ones it truly reveres.

I watched the DNC, it was all Trump this, Trump that. Her whole campaign centers around Trump. Her campaign policy page on her website talks about Trump more than her policies.
its more "kamalah did xyz in the past, so heres a noncommital ambigious statement about you believe she could achieve if president."

compare it to agenda 47, trump says he'll designate cartels as a terrorist organisation in order to fight drugs. Haris's entire drug smuggling policy boils down to "bringing back the bipartisan border bill (BBB)".

her border policy requires your ignorance of how the system works. the proponents of the BBB says it closes humanitarian parole (catch and release) loophole but they're ignoring that 80% of asylum claimees are granted entry into the us (the intial review of asylum) and by the DoJ's own records 50% of them didn't show up to court in 2020.

add on top of that the backlogged court cases, the cbp one app that grants illegals legal entry until their final court date, etc.

dems are dumb as fuck.

Glad this came back up, since I meant to add $0.02.

Designation as a terror org doesn't just mean we're going to be drone striking their weddings. What it primarily means in this instance is that we are going to unleash full cyberwarfare capabilities on them. That means extensive mapping of all of their business and financial dealings, completely laying bare their entire network and seizing all of their accounts.

If we start getting kinetic, then they can get all upset and turn it into a rallying cry. They can't say shit when all of their checks start to bounce and they can't bribe anyone without us putting out a warrant for the arrest of the corrupted official.

Look at all the Republicans and Democrats switching sides--RFK Jr, Tulsi, Cheney, etc.
Which is exactly what I'm talking about. Matter of fact, Tulsi and RFK hopping on is the exact moment I realized, and accepted, that it dies with Trump.
Trump is focusing hard on deregulation, breaking up the institutional agencies and the 3 letter agencies, ending the capture of agencies by corporate lobbyists, breaking the Military Industrial Complex, getting us out of wars, defanging the surveillance state, making Americans healthier by crushing Big Pharma and Corporate Food's push for chronic disease, securing the border, and ending the culture wars.
Okay? And how do you suppose he, by himself, accomplishes that?

You do get that most of our government's actual power is centered in congress, right? Or did his first term not make that clear?
The other party--I can't even call them "the left" or "Democrats" anymore, is the party of Neocons, Big Government, Big Corporations, Big Pharma, control of the proles by the elites, forever wars to enrich the MIC, continuous woke cultural struggle, and open borders will millions of new citizens streaming in every year.
:story:

That you unironically typed out 'the other party' like it's a meaningful distinction is funny. That you did so right after mentioning how many people were part of 'the other party' until the past few months/years is even funnier. This is how co-option looks. This is how it works, and it's why I've said 'fuck unity' over and over again when the topic arises.

Have fun voting between Vivek and DeSantis in 2028. I'll be doing a write-in for some Looney Tunes character.

No, they are malicious. Everything about the border and immigration is done out because they hate you.
the dems i talk to about the border dont know the cbp one app exists so they dont know how it works, they dont know about the initial asylum review granting entry, they dont know that 80-90% of claims are rejected or that the rejection is at court date years into the future. they just read "are 80% of asylum claims without merit? FALSE" without realizing the loaded question isn't the issue.

none of the dems i talked to knew that we literally can't deport anyone back to their COO because the motherland refuses to accept them. that's not malicous they're ignorant of the system. you can see them blow a fuse when you slowly explain it and let them fact check it.

Glad this came back up, since I meant to add $0.02.

agenda 47 specifies that theyre going to debank the fuck out of cartels. which is scary because we saw how the patriot act fucked us. but i trust trust to stick to cartels.

Many people have short attention spans today and lack any sort of critical thinking skills so they tend to conform to whatever the group think of the moment happens to be.

I’ve said it before, she’s an insecure person that loves stepping on the little people

Quit with the political correctness already! Just say midgets. There's nothing wrong with the word.

Damn even Bernie is saying she's faking it. Wild.

Interviewer: "Kamala Harris keeps changing her positions. Do you think she's abandoning her ideals?"
Bernie: "No, she's just lying to get elected. And that's a good thing!"

This is brain dead retardion, what the fuck are you talking about. They arent' going to import the trash to blue states, you dumb stupid faggot. They are going to import millions to red states, red districts and the dems will NEVER be out of power again. There isn't going to be some huge magical backlash, there isn't gonna to be some huge reckoning. They are just going to replace you, and shrug when you are killed off.

THINK you dumb motherfucker THINK!

When Trump wins he needs to change the voting laws so that only natural-born citizens are allowed to vote.

Rated lunacy, not because i think youre crazy, but your co-workers are. That they think that WWIII is worth having a first female mutt president.
Supporting a candidate even if they aren't seen as capable or able just because of their gender truly is democracy manifest.

There should be a voting licence required to vote and in order to aquire the licence you should be required to take and pass a specially designed competency test.

And then they turn around and never mention Biden even once. At least retcon him to be Stan's grandpa like how Trump was Mr .Garrison

They could have had Stan's grandpa end up accidentally elected President in some humorous way. Like voting machines malfunctioned (or got hacked by China or something) and put his name on the ballot and swapped over 50% of people's votes to him.

Someone said before that redditors have the smuggest yet most midwit level responses.

Yeah, sure, all of this can in some way be true. "Poorest states" only quantifies median household income in relation to the US poverty guidelines, which don't take into account regional differences in cost of living/housing/etc. Florida is in the bottom half of the list yet it's median of 63k would arguably go further than the median of 84k in California. Poverty between states based on this nonspecific rating is near meaningless.

I could technically go into each one, like how many would argue abortions should count in the second one (ironically still making a few red states pretty high up on the list), or how specific districts, usually controlled by democrats can account of the rest.

It's all about how specific you wanna get. Obviously at the state level their argument "works", but break it down to counties, voting districts, cities, whatever, and you start having it run into truths they don't want to speak about

Kamala, when asked of her accomplishments:

"Today, I would like to look to tomorrow. Which will make today, tomorrow's yesterday. And when we think about yesterday, our history, we must think about our past. And when we think about our past, we cannot have our past without our today. Because once today becomes tomorrow, it will be our past. When I think about today, I also think about all of the yesterdays that have come before today. I also think about all of the tomorrows that will only happen, if we make it through today. So in closing, today is the best today of all of the todays."

Dude, just go to the website, I am pretty sure it's down, I mean I am on a WiFi dammit.
Oops, turns out I am fine. Just had to turn off WiFi. Must be the WiFi here, or something.
You nigger.

Here’s a pragmatic retort. Just for fun, let’s say Louisiana for instance, one of the objectively poorest states, decides to secede, then Texas decides to join in on the fun. That alone would produce an energy crisis the rest of the country would have no answer for.

A lot of these states are also rich in farmland and the deeply conservative parts of these states produce food for the rest of the country.

It’s all fun and games until you’re literally starving, cold, and can’t go anywhere because your mode of transportation depends on fossil fuels or the conversion of fossil fuels into electricity.

Also in these states, gun violence is concentrated in impoverished urban areas, a majority of which are democratic.

Try again soy-chugging redditor.
