Sony hate thread

Hopefully they'll add more bots in the DLC. There's apparently franchises in the credits that don't have associated bots, but I glossed over it.

Turns out they are!

Don't undersell their hard work in cultivating an army of the dumbest nigger cattle known to man.
Isn't it basically a status symbol for your standard nigger? Though Sony has been coasting on goodwill for this whole generation and I can see it drying up with every hardware release.

Anyway, I'm still surprised Epic hasn't released the Fortnite box for like 50-100 bucks that only plays Fortnite. The depressing reality is that a lot of gaming is concentrated on eternal games and a lot of eternal games are multiplayer, free to play and low specs. Your average gamer would be fine with something that can play the 2-3 relevant eternal games at decent graphics and you don't need a ps5 or high end PC for that.
Guess that explains why Square still hasn't released the sales numbers for FFVII Rebirth seven months after it's release...
That the PS5 exclusivity was a wretched idea is crystal now. They must be terrified at the Steam releases. Nobody gives a shit anymore about XVI, the hype died a very long time ago and all of it's flaws have been known for a year. Similar story with Rebirth, though that one I'm more keen on playing, but definitely not day 1 and not at full price. Square better have gotten a mountain of sheckles from that Sony contract is all I'm saying.

There's no reason to upgrade, that's why High-end gaming is dying on PC and Consoles. If Sony or MS put out a more powerful console next gen, it will be DOA. non-uk EU sales for PS5 are down 20% YoY. The PS5PRO will sell on brand recognition to the enthusiast fanboys but Playstation fans by and large are sticking to PS4. Devs are still releasing cross-gen games at high numbers, almost unheard of four years into a gen.

Like you say, people want the steam deck, the want a more powerful Switch, they're happy with PS4-level graphics because there's no reason to upgrade. 4k and 8k as a marketing scam/idea has failed miserably. It would have been better to focus on physics and real-time destruction/AI over resolution.

I think AMD are aiming to cut the legs off of Nvidia and force them to focus on the high-end GPUs, while AMD steal the low and mid-tier GPUs at an affordable price. If AMD had an SLI solution planned, it would be very bad news long-term for Nvidia.
AMD have tried this exact same method in the past and it flopped and failed to shift market share, i don’t think it’s going to work the third go round

Yeah, we figured that out when the physical sales in Japan took over 3 months to match FF16's physical sales in Japan.

For reference, Famitsu reported that FF16 sold 336,027 copies during the "6/19/23-6/25/23" first week of sales. FF16 released on the 22nd too, so it was only 4 days of sales. Meanwhile Rebirth was released on February 29th this year and finally reached FF16's "week 1 sales" during the "6/10/24-6/16/24" sales week. It was such a flop that Square announced they're giving up console exclusivity and will be putting their games on every platform they can from now on.

Eh, they know those have a tendency to get either stuffed in a closet to be ignored forever, or hacked to make them run more than what they're supposed to (i.e. making them useful PCs). Usually to hit that price point they'd have to seriously cheap out on specs and they'd probably still wind up subsidizing them anyway. Fortnite is low-spec but there's certainly a minimum, so I'm not convinced a genuinely $100 device could hit it. Unless they've ported UE to Arm and can convince it to run on one of the Raspberry Pi / ODROID style boards.

In a perfect world, Toro would still be around.
Remember what they took from you.

In an ideal world, these two would coexist...
However, this is not an Ideal world.

Seriously it's scary to me how quick the narrative shifted since they replaced him with astrobot to "OBSCURE CHARACTER NOBODY KNOWS!!!!" Literally anyone who played literally anything playstation related pre-ps5 saw him in either a cameo or promo for playstation in some form, people who didn't know his fucking name just called him"the playstation cat".
Everyone seems to like astrobot around as much as toro but at the same time something seems wrong with all this with how internet retroactive history has become since around the time they replaced him. It's fucking scary actually because I can pinpoint the moment, it's specifically somewhere in 2023, just one year ago. Haven't had this level of "glitch in the matrix last sane man alive" feelings since the shit when they retconned Bro in homestuck to solely be the rooftop swordfight and therefore merciless child abuser despite most of said swordfight being a series of gags.

Also this:
It looks like a knock off of the reddit mascot.

Hey by the way, the second result for toro when you look him up on google right now is an ape escape fan wiki page about Toro. you know the popular game series from the studio sony killed so they could outsource to western studios for more money.

The third result is a fucking reddit thread from a few years ago during lockdown era claiming "he was never popular" and others saying astrobot should/will probably replace him. Real"sonic/mario was never good guys" vibes but about a guy who managed to be popular enough to be recognized globally despite none of his fucking games getting proper english releases. Achieved this due to merch and marketing alone too which gives me vibes similar to some other weird cases where the actual games never got imported in full (medabots only brought over a few games to the point lots of people people think the games are licensed to the anime not the other way around)

We live in a very special hell post corona. Said it already, but I'm gonna keep saying it. till we manage to break the cycle or fry trying.
HE'S BEEN THE MASCOT FOR OVER 2 FUCKING DECADES THAT IS NOT "OBSCURE" OR "FORGOTTEN".

EDIT: looking it up the old revoltech figures are now 200-400 dollars which stinks of "influencer induced price gouging" via calling something rare, obscure, and unpopular. Maybe that's why it is? I remember seeing listings for dirt cheap right at the start oflockdowns and considering getting one even if it was a knockoff. Now? fuck no that's too high I'll make my own.
EDITX2: Oh no, it's apparently because he's now one of many things subverted into a "tiktok trend".
Hey, at least the guy in this video acknowledges the little shit was popular before tiktok!

And that was a relatively hype-loaded release at the time, too. Says a lot.
