While a lot of the reports out of Springfield sound probable to me, eating dogs isn't one of them. Haitians detest dogs. They think they're disgusting. The worst insult you can lob at a Haitian is to call them a dog. (Ironically, the way Americans pronounce "Haitian" sounds a lot like "Hey, dog".)

The car crash claim sounds the most probable to me. Very few people in Haiti own cars or know how to drive, and that leads me to wonder to what degree are these migrants being allowed to drive with no training or licensing? Also, where are they getting the new SUVs I keep seeing in the photos of the mayhem they cause?

An insult to Africa, honestly. Haiti is many times more fucked up than even South Africa.

Yeah apparently the woman eating cats was also a crazy American black woman and not Haitian.

Haiti is way worse than the surrounding countries that also were colonies full of slaves ( Jamaica, DR etc)

One of my friends was going to a concert in the DR last year and I told him "whatever you do, don't go to Haiti" and he was confused and thought I was just being racist until I showed him the facts.

Same friend was planning a trip to Mexico and he said he was considering cave diving so I sent him some of those cave diving horror story videos. He'd never done any diving before and the videos were the only way for me, someone who's had basic SCUBA training, to make him realize that cave diving is extremely fucking dangerous and not something an amateur should be thinking about.

Haiti is actually in really bad shape relative to most of Sub-Saharan Africa. The closest I can compare it to is eastern areas of the DRC, Somalia and Sudan.

This is a terrible idea. Puerto Rican and Haitian culture are incompatible. Puerto Ricans hate Haitians almost or exactly as much as Dominicans. The only difference is that Puerto Ricans don’t have to share a border and an island with Haiti proper.
 
From the government: "If you choose to travel to or stay in Haiti against FCDO advice, try to avoid all crowds and public events, and take appropriate security precautions."

FCDO can't just outright state you should get the biggest gun you can, but you know whoever wrote that was thinking it.
