A few guarantees about the debate:

1) The media already has their headlines written about how Kamala won the debate and everything out of Trump's mouth is a lie. The post mortem punditry also have their scripts in place. This isn't dooming it's just reality.

2) The Trump camp already knows #1 and will adjust accordingly.

3) The moderators ain't gonna bring up the border, not now. If they do, that opens Trump to bring up Springfield and Aurora, along with her being the Border Czar. He should also bring up how law enforcement/government is lying to the public that there's nothing happening in those places and there's nothing to see, while there's been plenty of irrefutable proof that there is.

4) If anyone brings up Project 25, Trump can once again say he doesn't support it and he has his own policies. Of course the media will lie that he's lying, but he can say that in rebuttal at least.

5) A portion of the populace will believe the spin no matter what, even if it contradicts what they see with their own eyes. That portion is dwindling, though. The more mask off the media and government become, the more people are waking up. If they weren't, Kamala would be ahead by a comfortable margin and no one would show up at a Trump rally.

My prediction is that Kamala is going to be allowed to campaign speech--meaning she just keeps repeating everything she's already been saying, avoid bringing up policy of any sort, and she won't be required to rebut. I just can't see ABC letting her land on her face at any point. And that right there will be obvious that she's not fit for leadership if she has to be hand held during a debate. No wonder Putin is endorsing her.

In all seriousness, these companies have become so short-sighted that they truly believe they can just turn people's amygdalae on and then off again indefinitely, with no consequences for them whatsoever. Keep saying the magic words, and the left will punish anyone who wouldn't swear allegiance to Brand™ and their products, even if they don't actually consume them. Pocket all the savings from cheap labor and revenue from your new consumer base. Say, "Inflation is a myth! Food and gas are cheaper than ever!" and they'll keep grinding at their third McJob of the day with another Xanax to keep them going. Pocket those extra earnings (or even get yourself another seafront property for all your hard work- climate change, donchaknow). Say, "Those deplorables are the problem! They won't know their place in the dustbin of history!" and watch as the left turns all their frustration and rage at- not just the right- but business owners who just happen to work in their city, or a mother who's concerned her son is learning to accept "concepts" he's not yet equipped to defend himself from. Even a five-year-old girl who doesn't like 6'8 Ashley Madison hovering over her in the locker room is a good target for daring to go against the Message™. While she's at it, that girl can give her data to the Brandy™ app and have her mom buy her a Brand™ product so her skin can be flawless next time that happens!

Granted, schools and other parts of the system have groomed people into tolerating this, but the left especially, for all their bitching about rainbow capitalism and the like, really did drink the Kool-Aid. They look the other way from elites hiding themselves on Hawaiian beaches (after driving out the locals ala Zuckerberg). Meanwhile, they're more than happy to attack you for systemic oppression of BIPOC and climate change. All because you don't want your town overrun by cat-eating Haitians.
