Supposedly the Qiantang River which is southwest of Shanghai. This happens often in China because they have terrible infrastructure (often described as being made of "tofu dregs") and are building more and more dams. This case, though, seems to be caused by the East China Sea surging due to weather, as a tidal bore was created, meaning a wave so strong hit the river that it actually temporarily reversed the current.

These floods are often downplayed by Chinese (state, obviously) media with deaths either lowered or just not mentioned at all. The China Show does a lot of good segments on them since they still have friends in China who send them videos of the floods happening that the media won't see.

Wonder if transferring all that water to the north of China has something to do with it as well. It'd be hubris in action.

Yeah that looks pretty sketchy. It isn't the first time an archival collection has had a fake or Hollywood suicide included. Hell, the original "Faces of Death" tapes from back in the day were about 40% fakes as I recall.

This is just a case of people needing the right shot for social media. Reminds me of the MSSP podcast where they were talking about Japanese tourists falling off of waterfalls and other tourists attractions while trying to snap pictures.

The amount of people who just believe whatever their told by government officials or fact checkers is incredible and the whole Haitians eat cats thing is wild for demonstrating it. The very idea an "expert" might be lying to them is something they just don't consider.
