I personally suspect that if things fall apart and Texas instigates The Big Refusal (my pet name for an event calling federal policies and activities invalid), Louisiana and Missisippi and Alabama, maybe Florida too, will join with them as a power bloc. Then they can feed themselves (farms, cattle, fish) and will be energy independent. That will be a tough nut for the feds to crack if they all stand firm.
