1. First comes the mocking for Trump's "outrageous" statements.

2. Then comes people doing the research and actually finding the videos being posted everywhere of migrants eating random animals.

3. And then comes Trump gaining more supporters because they found out he was right from the get-go.

This has been Trump's strategy since 2015. He's the guy that made illegal immigration THE topic to care about in the United States almost 10 years ago. Back when my Dad and I were not Trump supporters, we both begrudgingly admitted that we appreciated that he was in the race because he's the one who made illegal immigration part of the national discussion, and that he was forcing Republicans to finally address and acknowledge the problem.
And Harris literally told everyone to go to his Rally.

This woman is just dumb bitch incarnate. :story:

He had tons of opportunities to do that on a number of issues but he got baited by kamala and went on unrelated tangents. they need a second debate and he has to stop being a retard and push the policies button.
I agree that he took the "crowd size" bait in some critical moments, when he should have addressed other stuff that Kamala was saying about him.

Overall, I think that this debate makes Kamala look worse (I think the milquetoast media reaction to it right now pretty much confirms that), but I want to see Trump completely destroy her in the next debate ... And he totally can if he can just focus on the issues and not get so worked up about insults to his ego.

I love Trump, but I've never claimed he's a perfect man. Never claimed that he's a humble man either. lol. The ego thing is often his biggest strength (I think it's part of what motivates him to be a good POTUS), and can also often be his biggest weakness.

No

Stop being retarded

No one ever thinks "I won that debate, I want another one!" unless another one is already scheduled

If you're ahead all a debate does is give the opponent an opportunity they wouldn't have
This.
The champion doesn’t ask for a rematch, he just sits on his throne with his belt.

She's promised to enact price control on food, everyday items, and rent. All that does is drive prices even higher and allow everything to get shittier. Price Controls have never worked.
Isn't price gouging a basic economic pitfall? I don't know who these "experts" are, but they sound unqualified and biased against Trump. Anybody can be an "expert."

What keeps me optimistic is that Kamala is not Biden. I can see why many people think Biden won, and he was seen as a "solid" candidate for being Obama's VP. Biden's administration has been a mess, however, and Kamala is unlikeable. But more than that, there's a lot of young blood in the DNC that is itching to bid for president. Newsom, Whitmer, Shapiro, even fucking Pritzker were waiting for Biden to kick the bucket so that they could run.

Kamala fucked Shapiro over by choosing Walz because she was afraid of having a person with more charisma than her. I don't see many of these younger Democrats fully rallying behind Kamala because, as others have said, if she wins then they won't be able to run until 2036 at the very least. 2028 can be seen as a fresh start for the Dems because no big names will be on the plate.

There's also Jill Biden praying Kamala to mess up. What Trump said about Biden hating Kamala is true. They removed him from the ballot and she's not excited about this mutt stealing her husband's legacy (and dumping on it in the meantime).

Obama and the Clintons endorsement of Kamala was lackluster. I've read here that their faction doesn't really want her in power, but then again, I've also heard that Obama didn't want Biden to win.

The only loyalists I can see willing to pull a big steal for Kamala are the Pelosi faction of the DNC. But maybe other kiwis know better.

My wife tends to lean more to the left on most issues, though she is fairly apolitical. She's in her 40s, never voted, and we live in a deep blue state, so it's not like her vote matters much in her mind. I was surprised when she said she wanted to watch the debate, because usually she has no interest in politics outside of whatever Colbert is putting out. She told me about an hour in "Trump seems like he's got his shit together."

She tuned out after that. While it wasn't the same result as the Biden debate, it's not like Trump absolutely shat the bed here.

Ego does not help when you can barely utter a coherent thought. Brevity is not one of his strengths, especially in a written format.

Harris will try to push for a PBS debate while Trump will push for Fox. We’ll probably end up with a VP debate on Fox and the second debate on CBS.

What I’d like to point out is that the media isn’t repeatedly playing any clips. Nothing is really sticking or viral except the cats and dogs thing, and that ultimately only helps Trump (as @StarkRavingMad so eloquently explained).

I'm gonna slam a beer
When the chick moderator "fact checked" Trump on how "no state has legalized killing born babies," I wanted to punch my computer. lol. They are intentionally misleading the American people on what the actual facts are.

If a baby survives an abortion (which does happen), then they are born babies. Tim Walz signed some of the most radical anti-baby and anti-mother laws of any state as governor, and one of them includes letting the BORN babies who have survived abortions to be left to die. So yes, it is, in fact, legal in some states to kill born babies. I really wish Trump had jumped on that ... He had the opportunity to do so, too.

And Kamala lumping in miscarriages with abortions to scare women ... These people are monsters. That is an insult to any mother who has suffered from the emotional devastation of a miscarriage to compare her experience to a mother who chose to kill her baby. Evil, sick, and dishonest beyond ALL belief!
The issue to me. with this debate, is that you made that that point far more concisely than Trump was able to. He would say it, then miss the opportunity to drive it home by explaining how the west Virginia did that. He needed to calm down.

That being said, this was Kamala's chance to appear competent. She did not.

This was an OK performance by Trump, and I still see him pulling even farther ahead, but he needs to stop getting so fucking angry. I generally love his anger, but he missed several great opportunities to crucify Kamala while he was too busy rambling in a few different directions.

This.

New idea:
Trump debates literally all media correspondents. Kamala is tied to a chair and forced to watch with a paper bag on her head so no one can see her cackling.

October surprise is Biden bumbles his way in, has a heart attack and explodes, so Kamala has no excuse now that she's technically president and is still doing nothing.

He had tons of opportunities to do that on a number of issues but he got baited by kamala and went on unrelated tangents.
That's my general consensus.

Another one was when Kamala said people leave his rallies and Trump couldn't help himself and had to address that extremely irrelevant point.

Different opponents (Biden is literally a dementia patient), but I think Trump did far better in the Biden debate. Here he seemed to be letting Kamala tweak his nose and lead him off into unimportant tangents when he would have hammered Kamala on her empty vapidity.

He had tons of opportunities to do that on a number of issues but he got baited by kamala and went on unrelated tangents. they need a second debate and he has to stop being a retard and push the policies button.

the other play is to ignore the debate and do more pressers and townhalls to prevent kamala from hiding in the basement. these debates have been a waste of time.
For me, the most frustrating part of the debate (and Harris's biggest W) came when she said that she backed THE BIPARTISAN BORDER BILL and that Trump pressured congressional Republicans to vote it down. The moderator then directly asked Trump why he would do that. Instead of articulating why the bill is complete dogshit that codifies illegal immigration into US law, Trump took her bait and went off on some tangent about how he has such big, beautiful rallies. The best rallies. You'll have so much fun at a Trump rally. And those people that sit up front -- Front-Row Joes he calls them -- they follow the campaign from state to state and show up early -- hours, days even -- to make sure they get their seats etc. To his credit, he did manage to circle back to Haitians in Springfield, but with immigration being such a key focus of his campaign he missed an easy layup.

Overall, this was a lot like the first Trump-Clinton debate in 2016. High-energy Trump firing in all directions and getting lost in the weeds. It wasn't until the second debate that he got a decisive win.

Something to keep in mind - while Biden dropped his re-election bid under apparently various types of pressure, he hasn't resigned from the Presidency. If Kamala were President now that would have given her campaign a boost. But Joe's still beating his meat in the Oval Office.

Why? Pretty fucking obvious to me - nobody wants her as President. She's done shit as VP and has embarrassed herself and the country on more than one occasion. Believe 'they' would rather deal with the devil they know, President Trump, rather than Kamala the Simpleminded Cackler.
