Overall I'd say this debate was largely neutral, with both camps finding things that reinforce their beliefs. Independents that watched directly may be more pro-Trump, but ones that relied on commentary and summarization from the media may take a pro-Harris stance.

However, this was effectively the very best case scenario Harris would've gotten for a debate, with moderators that were 100% carrying her and Trump still getting a feel for her debate style. If there ever is a second debate, conditions will likely favor Trump more. I don't think Harris can avoid a rematch, and may have false confidence to go into one.

Maybe off-topic but I have an observation I've been meaning to share. I follow many meme and shitpost accounts on Instagram. A few of them lean toward schizoposting and irony and you can tell a couple of the accounts' owners are based, but there are only like 2 or 3 accounts that are inherently for "based and redpilled" memes that I knowingly follow. It's a treat when a "normie" meme account posts a meme making fun of St. Floyd or the genderpeople.

I have noticed a stark increase in memes being posted that are more or less racist, or as some would say, "race realist." Memes that acknowledge the problems within the black community, why stereotypes are generally earned and not given (even if the stereotype is currently outdates, i.e. Irish cops in the USA), 13%/50%, etc. etc. Not really anything saying "all black people suck and are stupid" though (which I don't personally believe of course). Lots of memes about "rape-ugees" and illegals, too. These posts will get tens of thousands of likes and comments that agree with the post (with the occasional dissenter). Reminder that the 'Gram is a mainstream platform. There are also tons of memes about the people of gender and how corrupt the government is.

I get recommended posts like this from accounts I don't follow all the time, which I know is because of previous posts I've liked (algorithm). But I will still get them even if I haven't interacted with meme accounts in a while. I have also seen a couple on Facebook, though I don't actually scroll on Facebook; I just post to pages I help manage and visit specific other pages (I use FB mostly for its original intended purpose). It also seems like most users commenting on these and posting them are zoomers or "zillennials" (new term for what I am that I just learned).

What do you mean by this? I'm not apathetic, I just can't see droves of the "muh Palestine" twitter users not voting at all. I'm not using the "I'm not a doomer I'm just a realist" card because I don't consider myself a doomer at all, I just realistically don't see the twitter users crying over Muslim terrorists choosing to stay home when the lives of transgender toddlers are supposedly at stake.

These debates will only be a net-positive for Kamala. Kamala stands her ground, Trump takes the bait, Moderators "fact-check" everything Trump says live, Trump says that one off-the-cuff remark and then NRP replays it all week long.

And don't trust a Fox News debate/moderators at all. Fox News has always hated Trump since the 2015 GOP primary, They just placate him for their viewers. Fox wants him gone and to go back to John McCain/Nikki Hayley neocon war mongers so bad.

It really infuriates me whenever they blame Trump for COVD-19. It was a global pandemic that originated in China! The only blame that can be put on Trump is that he let them eventually make him think it was a bigger deal than it was when he should have just kept treating it as the very bad cold that it was and allow herd immunity to do its thing. But they're never going to say that because they need to keep up the narrative that it killed a billion people and will kill everybody if we don't all get vaxxed and boosted at least 3 times a year.

Harris was going to "win" no matter what because they have no other option and because brown woman. He wasn't perfect by any memes but I don't think Orange Man did as bad as doomers ITT keep insisting he did.

It’s not that he did bad it’s just he should have let her hang herself. He was funny as fuck last night but some normies might be put off by his temper. I’m still voting for him no matter what. Also watched a little of Chris stream last night, fuck I miss that big mother fucker retard.

Well I wasn't having a go at you, just whoever came up with the word. I think it's retarded because it just doesn't make sense and sounds retarded. The same with "zoomer" really but at least zoomer was already a word. I think? At least unofficially it's something that zooms, regardless of whether or not it's actually in the dictionary.

If they were true, if it was good for Harris, they wouldn't have pulled the Taylor Swift Emergency Lever immediately afterwards to give AWFLs something else to talk about, and Harris wouldn't have IMMEDIATELY started demanding a do-over via a second debate. I think it lacked a real mean kill shot from Trump, but Harris didn't get anything on him. A wash, effectively. The media will spin it as a win, as you pointed out, but they would have done that if she had came out drunk and passed out at the podium.

Harris needed to gain ground here. She didn't. Worse, Trump did get some good shots in, that will harm her going forward. She's been part of the Biden Admin for the past 4 years, why is she promising future things? She could do them now. She could have done them. I forget, there was something else he said, but I could see it sticking like a craw in the minds of people when the DNC tries inevitably to ramp up the fear based motivation over the next few months.

Second debate? Trump could have another go at her. Or he could just call her a coward and a cunt for backing out of the 3 he wanted and let her cope and seethe.
