is a space Stryker good enough to work for aliens and not immediately die
That's up to you decide, writer. What's it fighting? Where? With what? How are its enemies armed? Is it the right tool for the job the aliens are using it for (like the Sherman doing infantry support at the end of a 3000 mile long supply chain in 1944 France), or are they shoehorning it in for lack of any other vehicle (like the F-105 high altitude nuclear strike fighter-bomber forced to be a low altitude bomb sled in Vietnam)? If it's shoehorned, does it get better when the alien military-industrial complex decides to fix it, or does it stay a piece of garbage for that role because the bureaucrats don't care how many die as long as the price is kept down?

Need some help with something fellow millspergs, a hypothetical. I'm writing a book rn and literally making a ailen army from scratch. What I've decided on for some of the land logistics is a space Stryker and Space Humvee

The space Stryker will have its APC and Dragoon variant, but with a 37mm instead of 30mm for the dragoon,

Mainly proof against plasma fire but can take hits in the 14.5mm range like the actual Stryker. Can fit extra ceramic and slat armor against rockets and heavier plasma weapons equal to auto cannons around the 30mm range. The coax is a 300 win mag MG42 but in space machine gun. 3000 rounds.

APC has either a space 12.7mm, 14.5mm, or a 50mm grenade launcher in a remote turret. Has the possibility of being fitted with light anti tank missiles. Carries 10 passengers, same with the dragoon. Armor is the same. Range for both is 600 miles.

It's Wheeled, so relatively fast but tires can pop. Also keeps the double V hull of the Stryker, so fuck mines. Rollover is a issue.

Overall this is as much a question of is the Stryker good as is a space Stryker good enough to work for aliens and not immediately die. I've always liked the Stryker and found it a cool little workhorse, a evolution of the LAV III that has actual armor. Discuss.

Perhaps, but I would make the armor heavily based on materials that have excellent heat tolerance and make it so it would have relatively normal armor as it is transported and once it has been transported on planet, it would then have whatever needs to be applied added either as a filler or applique at whatever the basecamp is. Perhaps have some future materials in it that make it cheap enough that space factories can churn them out and the military can simply leave them on the planet once they have landed because getting them out is a hassle.

really its facing plasma weapons and HEAT rockets, with the odd railgun thrown in. The first two is what its defences are really trying to protect against. Its kinda in the middle in terms of cost, it isnt cardboard, but dont push your luck either. It really is trying to be mobile while carrying firepower, like the IRL stryker.

I mean I was planning on replaceable ceramics, but yeah. I imagine against plasma weapons those applique tiles would become consumables quickly, moreso than irl.

Replace the Stryker with the Boxer or a future Americanisation of it, it makes even more sense considering it's already stupidly customizable, you could have hot swappable modules for protection levels, weight, armaments, even changing from wheeled to tracked, depending on planetary surfaces. It is basically the best lessons learned from the stryker and its relatives, and makes total sense for grounded SCIFI, you could basically airdrop (with future bullshit helping obviously) an entire combined arms army all on the same platform, which would hugely reduce combat friction, and allow for constant retuning and adaptations, as well as easily reconstituting forces post battle.

I can definitely add aspects in. The hot swap part is really slick. I like the look of the Stryker though, so that will be the basis

Yeah that's what I meant by future Americanisation of it really, the US taking the modularity of the boxer wouldn't really be surprising for a future AFV fleet upgrade, no way they'd adopt a jointly developed european combat vehicle lmao. This way you could even make a stryker MGS workable, imagine that lol.

Oh make sure to include an APS as well.

What would possess you to ask this in a thread about a midwitted, obese, alcoholic faggot?

I wonder what his opinon are on Lenin invading another socialist country who unlike Lenin, actually voted in their government (shocking!)
I'm sure he has a whole essay ready to explain why that's a necessary step on the road to equality or something along those lines and how that's completely different from [thing he doesn't like]. It's all so tiresome.

You do have to remember that the Bolsheviks during and after the Russian civil war saw themselves as the great revolutionary vanguard and sought to export the revolution everywhere they could. This idea was the main driving force of the Soviet Union when it was primarily driven by the Lenin-Stalin-Trotsky troika, but once Stalin became the only one of the three remaining in charge; he wanted to do Socialism in just one country to much displeasure of Trotsky who was the primary driver of global revolution. They also did believe in a dictatorship of the proletariat as the one true path that would be truly effective in building Communism.
