He more then likely is doing this to get views from old accounts. He makes a "Imma shout this down!" statementioned, then it gets spread across the net like blood across a highway, people that used to watch hear about it and get nostalgic so start watching again, profit.
 
I kinda wondered about that. Where are they going to? Vine is basically nonexistent lately (kinda), and I haven't heard about periscope in a minute, so where are all these disaffected YouTube people going?
HBO Go, Netflix and Hulu Plus - tv shows have gotten better, things like youtube thrive on down times in tv - but it's currently an up period so less people use it - also shit like overwatch and that take people's attention

Ahhh. But those platforms don't feature vlogs or privately made videos. I always used YouTube for stuff like that, not for actual shows. but I see your point. Why look for content (and not find it) when you can unwind watching Vanderpump Rules or The Seven Deadly Sins?
