Voted tie. Really not impressed by Trump here. He could have EASILY sledgehammered her at any point, and simply being on screen for longer that 2 minutes per month was going to be a boon for Harris no matter what. The Dems played a good hand keeping her and Biden out of the direct line of the media's sight for so long. I guarantee they'll clip that "we have concepts of plans" thing Trump said, and run with it all the way to election day.
All Trump had to do, to win this HANDILY, was simply ask where the fuck they've been all this time, and why everything is crumbling under them, and hammer that point home for two hours. That's the question I've been asking about Biden and Harris since 2021, to unsatisfying or unenlightening answers. This is the most absentee President and Vice President I have ever seen in my lifetime. Why is nobody seeing that as the serious problem it is?
Do I think Harris won this debate? No. She came across as a drunken scolding/smug soccer mom, and openly lied with every second sentence. There is absolutely nothing Presidential about her, and her whole "we have to come together and hug and kiss and look to the future and turn the page because the future is oh so very bright" thing is NOT something ANYBODY wants to hear. People can't afford groceries anymore. Nobody wants to go to the future, because they know they'll be able to afford even fewer groceries when the future happens.
Do I think Trump won the debate? Yes, but not by much, and it was, at absolute best, a hollow, empty, victory. He did not articulate his points as clearly as he should have, and even though he IS inarticulate, he has done better, like, most of the time. Trump has virtually nothing to gain from this, but little, if anything, to lose.
