You're not wrong that it doesn't have to be sexual, but you don't know your history if you think it was hijacked. It has always been this way, just a lot of it was (and still is) behind closed doors. Just look back to the very first 'conventions', which were glorified room and house parties.

If you're being sincere I don't know if they simply mean foreign religions like Christianity, which I could understand, or also well-accepted practices at Shinto and Buddhist shrines and temples, which would be an interestingly extreme degree of neutrality, but engaging in "anti-social activities" being a nicer way of saying degenerate behavior is pretty straightforward and I will just point to Japan's larger culture of not bothering others or breaking from traditions.

In fact, anyone who isn't in it for the porn is generally pushed out and relegated to tiny insular communities orbiting the fandom because their interests aren't going to line up with your average Discord user's.

They're the equivalent of atheists going to mass because they like listening to the music: they're outsiders, and completely missing the point of the exercise.

If anything, it feels more like the fetish communities on furry sites are more "generally pushed out and relegated to tiny insular communities orbiting the fandom" than normiefurs. You'll never see a tickling fetishist speak to an inflation fetishist, or a fart fetishist talking to a quicksand fetishist. They also seem completely disconnected from the wider nsfw community that enjoys traditional porn.

Look over fa profiles and most of the time they are visited by the same folks. If you see let's say 'user x' under ZP92's shouts, they're very likely to show up again under Caroo's shouts.

I used to cope like this as I had some furry friends who were adamantly SFW, but eventually I realised each one was secretly into weird sexual shit. It's just a matter of who hides it better from what I've seen.
