I think someone posted earlier that the PS3's Blu-ray support is still unmatched, even compared to the PS5.

It's nice because you can easily hack it to get around region locks and Cinavia, but is there any other advantage over a newer player? Not that I'm aware of.
PS5 lacks its 3D Blu-ray support, but PS4 has it.
I suppose the two things combined make it pretty good, but I've seen more people using the PS4 to watch 3D movies on a PSVR than using the PS3 with a 3D TV. Probably more accessible for most people.

How many more woke exensive games are in the cards for Sony? Can they afford for all of them to fail? What about consumer trust? And how many of them will follow on PS6? The more they push the price, the more they kill the "it's cheaper" argument for retards unable to consider auxiliary prices like the $80/yr online subscription. The worst part about this PS5 Pro shitshow is that the question of diminishing returns have started to enter the discussion among normies and that's incredibly fucked for Sony as the PS6 is a few years out. The PS5 is behind the PS4 in console sales in terms of age and that's with the Xbox being dead in the dumpster at ~20 million consoles sold after 4 years. Their userbase is dwindling hard and the more people accept PC gaming, the more the high-end console market will just be retards too stupid or afraid to use a PC for gaming.

Certainly but what did you expect? Immediate and total woke death? Many woke games that are in development today are about to come out. The difference is that the games that are early in development or early middle have a good chance to be de-woked. And the games that are a bit later in development can have their character skins and voicelines fixed too. However, as for every game that is too woke to be fixed or far too late in development, I am sure their studios are bracing for impact. They saw Dustborn, Ubisoft Star Wars, Assassins' Creed: Shadows and Concord and they are propably fearing for their jobs now that they know for a fact that calling the customers bigots does not work. The true believers will push through with the wokeshit anyway, though. But let me tell you, after each and every woke failure, there will be less and less of them.

Xenoblade 2 can't even hold 30fps at 720p and drops into the mid teens, you must be smoking some crazy shit if you think a console generation from fucking Nintendo is going to let that mess hit anywhere close to 60.

The original switch can run Xeno 2 at 60 fps

Nintendo just kneecapped the console for battery life and thermal concerns.

The only question is will backwards compatibility be anything but the bare minimum.

I’m sure that, to Sony, doing that “made sense,” because games like Locoroco or The Last Guardian or Gravity Rush were not hitting the right “sales targets", made up numbers that don't mean anything to anyone other than shareholders. So, you restructure (read: get rid of the Japs that actually knew what the fuck they were doing and put a frog as the head), and that’s how you get Team Asobi.

Now we've got this clownshoes company that closes down all of their Japan studios, that launches a VR headset peripheral that’s more expensive than the console it’s made for, and that same VR headset has no backwards compatibility with older PS4 software even though the console itself does, and then they launch an equally expensive WiFi-only remote dock (read: a Wii U Gamepad) for that console, they keep raising their prices in Japan, they launch and then two weeks later shut down a live service game that spent 8 years in development, and launches a $700 "refresh" that is for absolutely no one....

And then you look at Astro Bot, brimming with “Remember when PlayStation used to be the coolest thing in the world?” references, from Parappa the Rapper to Ape Escape to Shadow of the Colossus, and it’s like… yeah, I do remember that, and I can only remember it, because that’s not the kind of company Sony is now. This is a party primarily for things that don’t exist anymore.

all the BlackRock grants given to Sony can only go so far, they are already reliant on Multiplats like CoD and Madden to fund that type of shit, the Free Market is quickly catching up to them. just look at all the DEI departments getting laid off, there has to be purges going on behind the scenes. Unironically, What is Sony's endgame at this point?, since the start of the eighth generation they have pretty much stagnated, they don't have anything else new to offer since we are now hitting the performance ceiling, are they complacent with being the dominant "High-Graphics Console" player on the market since basically nobody wants to compete anymore, with Nintendo off doing their separate thing and Xbox slipping from their market share.

The reason they are so confident in doing this is because they have effectively cornered the market, why bother make it cheaper when the consumer drones will buy it anyway while they don't see any growth as the larger gaming audience shifts more and more to PC
